What if weaker teams start the game with a PP to try get off to a good start. other teams may keep it as insurance and use an extra defender late in the match.
You cannot use yours when another team is using their's |
So what if there is 5 minutes to go in the GF (or any game for that matter) and neither side has used it? One pulls the trigger first.
The wind is meant to be the variable. And if a side starts with it the other side just plays keepings off if they get it. And how does it have an effect on the 666 rule.
In nay case wit some exceptions the other mob is using the umpires as extra players. Aka numpty failing to see maynard free in last 2 minutes last qtr of the GF.
The change I would like to see is scrap the emergency umpire and each of the 4 umpires sits out a quarter. If a scump , goal scump or boundary goes down that umpire becomes that umpire for the rest of the quarter. With goal reviews it is not that that has to be a highly specialised skill. You could also argue that a similar scheme for the boundaries would work as well. |
Powerplay can only be used during the first 3 quarters. If they fail to use it, then its bad coaching.
That would increase the chance of teams being proactive instead of reactive with their PowerPlays.
If you have a 5 min period with an extra mid/fwd then a good return should be ( 2-3 goal Powerplay )
It helps stagnating quarters flow.
Imagine being at the G and the signal goes that Collingwood is using their PP, the crowd will feel a bit more adrenaline for 5 min i reckon.
It does not mean that teams will not be able to handle PowerPlays. some teams will emerge as strong "PowerPlay killers", the ability to keep the other team goalless while defending a PowerPlay. In Ice Hockey they say " They killed off the PowerPlay". Teams with good speed and counter attack ability will be able to score "short-handed goals" _________________ On the eve of a Dynasty

At 3 quarter time we'll have a seance, bring back Gordon Coventry to fill the KPF position.
