I think a little premature. I would like to see how this season goes. At the moment we've had only one season that has shown he is capable. Or at least half a season.

Was last year an anomaly? Or he and the whole club got it together and founder the formula.

It's not clear the terms. It could be a replica of last year, i.e. extension to the end of 2020.

e.g. What does this mean?

' "We might be in the same circumstance in 12 months, regardless of whether things go well or poorly," he said.'

Cohesion that happened in 2018 had many pushing the bus !!

New assistant coaches—new recruitment manager—and Maxwell as leadership
manager

Bucks did an excellent job no doubt in the new harmonious climate

You could ponder if it was him or the climate ——whatever it was “When your on a good thing stick to it”

afl.com.au's article:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-02-10/equal-of-lethal-bucks-closes-on-contract-extension

"... Buckley is eyeing a two-year extension that will keep him at the club until the end of 2021, AFL.com.au understands."

I'm surprised anyone would question this. Two years is a perfectly reasonable request after the success of last year.

An extension now would be a positive I reckon. It would avoid the media circus that always seems to surround a coach who is nearing the end of their contract. This seems to happen regardless of a teams' performances and must be unsettling to the players.

Just hope he keeps hugging and doesn't shave the beard off!! Smile

I have a feeling,a strong one actually that we are about to enter a successful
era and the crew we have at the helm will take us there

We look at Nathan’s journey as a coach with the early days coaching with the shadow of a premiership group who we definitely not all pulling together

The lean years of 14 thru 17 without making finals this man NEVER dropped his head —-he believed in himself and the club

Now his qualities are giving us enormous benefits

Stay Bucks we love ya

Wasnt he supposed to be sacked 2 or three years ago? There's a thread here somewhere.

Yes and planes were supposed to fall from the sky when the clock chimed midnight Dec 31 2000

By that I mean that was then—-this is now

Been a big basher of Bux over the years.
But last years effort was super human.
Deserves a 2 year extension .... so effectively making
it 3 years from now.
About a right amount of time I think.

good decision. only thing I would have liked to have seen was a couple of less injuries - you can argue it was dumb luck we had so many but its something that can be linked to training and coaching, justified or not.
He seems to have jdg onside after his troubles and has brought out good work in players we imported.

FFS, he lost us yet another Grand Final last year and now he's getting a contract extension. Many of my esteemed fellow Nicksters saw it coming and were screaming for him to be sacked last year, so why is he now being rewarded instead of being shown the door? Can someone please tell me why? Shocked Laughing
