Definitely a good prospect, but he has to again improve his fitness over the offseason. If not, he's going to miss games for it. He hurt us badly at times, including the Grand Final, by going missing late and not being able to play enough minutes.

The other reason for not playing enough minutes is his one dimensionality. He needs to be able to play another position, it's not likely he'll perform to the level required to be a 100% centre square player all season.

Love the positive sides of his game but there were some strong negatives as well and with tough competition for spots he's not a best 22 lock unless he continues to improve. Given his age and experience though, that's almost a given if he puts in the work.

He will be able to play other positions. I can see him causing opposition nightmares by sneaking forward into the forward line with his size and strength causing a mismatch

When he does drift forward (he has and taken a handball to goal) he has size
to restrain in some way a tall KP backmam freeing up a Stephenson or DeGoey to kick the goals

His long handballs out of congestion are just as effective as a Pendlebury baulk in clearing the play.

and his booming kicks break lines like a Sam Murray run.

In close he is very good the comparison with Sydney's Kennedy is pretty accurate - and Sier will only get better.

Loads of upside IMO

That's like saying Tom Mitchell, or JPK need to be able to play more than one position. Or Pendles for that matter (I personally don't think he will be more effective in a position other than on ball, compared to other specialists we have). His weakness being his tank is perhaps the best weakness you can possibly have. Much better than being too small, or a poor decision maker. Anyone can significantly build their tank with enough work, and it's pretty clear he had his breakout season after making the decision to fully dedicate himself to football.

There are very few midfielders in the AFL who will be able to beat or contain him in a one on one contest. He's an absolute monster of a lad. There is no one on our list with the capability to do what he can do in the midfield in contested situations IMO, him being developed as a primary midfielder shouldn't even be a question.

Potential is a dirty word, but the kid has it in abundance, must continue to work hard.

Could be one of Hine's biggest gem finds ever if he fully realises that potential.

Positive signs that he's gone and done the Muay Thai kickboxing camp again this offseason.

He attributed overcoming niggling injury concerns on the one prior to last season in that it gave him greater flexibility and freed him up through the hips to move better.

It shows a dedication to improvement that he's continued it and that attitude is a big step in realising the dirty word (potential).

I do believe the penny has dropped for him and he will go from strength to strength.

I find that interesting—-did he spend time in Thailand to practice the craft of Muay Thai (think he did)

Footballers today try all manner of alternate training—Grundy I think trecked to Everest Base Camp ❓

Yep, a couple of great articles detailing it at:

and

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-12-02/how-a-trip-to-thailand-has-bear-primed-for-a-midfield-assault

And yes, Grundy did trek to base camp this offseason (I think it was mentioned in a piece about his toe injury).

Yes, Grundy needs to be careful around those Sherpa Ruffhed's when he's next around Everest. Embarassed

Last year I wanted him to probably be a bit more aware of his disposal time and that seemingly, lack of the explosive first movement. I'm sure that will come with experience and pre season preparation and he WILL be an absolute super star.
