No surprise SL is batting well. With the exception of Angelo Mathews, they have their batting lineup intact.
Aust. scored 500+ and declared, without Warner, Smith and (to a lesser extent) Bancroft and virtual rookies at #1, #4 and #6.
After the first 40m minutes or so, on day 1, any life went out of the wicket.
Lyon's first over suggested he'd be a real threat. Although bowling well, it hasn't happened.

 I was about to write something about Starc's dramatic (seemingly) loss of form - his opening spell produced 22 runs from 3 overs - and he bowls a ripper to Chandimal, getting a feather on glove.

Labu's wicket (LBW, attempted sweep) seems to have generated discussion.
There really was very little on Snicko... Perhaps those wanting the on-field decision overturned will say glove spikes are always small... but how do you overturn the umpire on that basis? |
