That has nothing to do with being staunch. It's fine for people to want to keep some word or other. It's slightly less fine when they are misguided about why. And it's much more disturbing when some of them are hysterical and abusive just seeing others discuss it. |
I too have found it perplexing K that some folks have not been able to look at this particular topic without some measure of calm and logic about it. After all, it's just a theoretical discussion, not a personal threat to their existence! (Or is it? )
I guess that demonstrates yet again how the connections to our footy club are so deeply personal in nature (for better or worse!). |

Yes, PPie. Calm logic would be nice... but even calm illogic would be better than empty personal abuse. |

Calm illogic seems an apt description for most of your posts in this thread
Basically the whole topic is how can we affect 0.01% of the player’s psychology; a poor return for effort
If you would have stuck with “I feel embarrassed by the word cakewalk” it would have made some sense _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |

Different people have expressed different reasons.
As for ROI, the cost to the Club itself (football department and players) of changing that word is almost zero. They don't hold all these myths about "tradition".
As for illogic, your last actual argument in this thread sounds more like an argument for the opposite conclusion (not for the first time from your side). I'm not sure why you think it supports your conclusion. |

So you agree cakewalk has no impact on the club and players; or the win-loss ratio _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |

Huh?? I certainly don't agree with that claim.
The effect is one-sided (no harm), and comes cheap (to them, if not to all supporters). |

The poll results aren’t |
This doesn't bother me unduly. It's a poll only. It's what supporters say to explain their vote that interests me.
Just wondering if you read the article and what you thought of it? |

I don't think learning one new line in a song takes a great deal of effort
If you mean effort/expense by the club, well, I've already answered that one in a post to David. |

How many extra wins can we count on after changing the song? _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |

What do you mean by "unlike K"? Do you claim to have magical powers that let you know what others have read or not? |

Not from the players and coaches... It's possible there may be some effort needed by the administration to pacify a small subset of hysterical supporters, though. |
