Maybe the MCG wicket is fine? Aus bowling and fielding poor, batting even worse. India bowlers far better!

Of course the batting is incompetent, but do you think the pitch is deteriorating, perhaps aided by the heat? If so, how rapidly?

A result would not excuse the pitch, any more than it did when Flintoff's team conspired to lose in Adelaide, spooked by Warne.
