In 2018 our improvement came from a great spread of players but we had input from players who we did not expect like

Stephenson (unknown how he would adapt)
Mihochek (A rookie and maybe a back HBF)
Sier (last year and was ready to be de-listed)
Thomas (No real position)
Mayne (please he was using valuable salary cap space)
and to a lesser extent Cox (the experiment had failed)

The Easy way is suggest that
Elliot
Moore
Wells
all get fit and play 25 games

But I can only think of a couple of break out players for 2019
Murphy
Daicos
Draft Pick 1 & 2

Interested in other thoughts?

I think Murphy is going to be a star.

I dont think Kelly is likely to play next year.

With Beams and Roughead coming in, I don't see many debutants getting a game at all

Won't be any new Locks for 2019.
It's going to be that hard to get a game next year, that even the 2018 Locks will be looking over their shoulder if they offer up a sub-par performance during the season.

Anything less is utterly unacceptable, considering what we just endured.

The four who come to mind are Quaynor, Murphy, Beams and Roughhead. The only thing you can be sure of is that nothing stays the same. Some players will go out and some will come in. That will depend on practice form, injury and luck of being at the right place and the right time.

Fit moore and Billy would be locks.

IQ maybe.

Wells is wildcard icing

Roughead could be VFL depth or a lock down back or pushout checkers up forward.

Lots of water to go under the bridge yet.

Agreed..... haven't seen someone run back with the flight like him since Nick Riewoldt. Looks like a cool head under pressure too!

According to all he's a lock to get to Collingwood. My question is will we pass on him if there's another potential Grundy situation when it comes to our first pick?
Excuse me if this has been answered 15 times already in 4 other threads.

Firstly I believe we are in need of a quick small defender. Secondly it won’t get to that. Our first pick will be 41 and it’s odds on he will be selected before that and we will have to match.

I'll give you 5 - Moore, Reid, Elliott, Wells and Beams all come in if up and firing fit.

Reid is an interesting one, almost the forgotten man. Can he get one more year or at least 15 games at full fitness? Or is he well and truly past it? Wells the same. At full fitness both are elite, no question.

In saying that, and balance etc obviously comes into it versus different teams, but who the hell would go out? I'd feel guilty even suggesting any from our team last year coz they were so impressive and came within a whisker of a flag. Greenwood, Goldy (gulp), Mayne, Aish? Four gulps actually. Can't even fo a fifth.

Moore and Elliott have the talent to win us a Premiership....if their bodies hold up.

Apart from them, I'm expecting big seasons from Sier, Murphy and hopefully Daics.
