Welcome to the club.

Quote:
Selection No. 77 Atu Bosenavulagi

Position: Midfield / forward
Height: 180cm
Weight: 81kg
Age: 18
Recruited from: Oakleigh U18

Profile
The rugby union convert's form has built across the season and he has taken the eye of club scouts with his pace, hardness and tackling in the TAC Cup, making him a late draft or rookie chance. Collingwood has access to the Fijian-born prospect through its Next Generation Academy.

2018 TAC Cup statistics
Club: Oakleigh U18
Games: 18
Average Disposals: 14.8
Average Marks: 2.8
Average Inside 50s: 2.2
Average Tackles: 4.5

Did you know?

- The Next Generation Academy product kicked nine goals in his last four TAC Cup matches of the 2018 season, including Oakleighs Grand Final loss to Dandenong
- Collingwood Cheer Squad legend Joffa Corfe has a long-standing connection to Bosenavulagis family. Hes definitely a second grandpa to me, Bosenavulagi told Channel Seven during draft week
- Bosenavulagi grew up a Western Bulldogs supporter, something he will need to change once he arrives at the Holden Centre
- He represented Australia at junior level in rugby sevens

What they say

Hes got speed, hes got terrific tackling ability but his also really clean with his ability to gather the ball. Hes got a tremendous set of hands and a really exciting product with a huge upside, Craig Notman (Oakleigh Chargers Talent Manager), as told to Toby Prime, Leader Newspapers, November 2018

He applies plenty of pressure in the forward half of the ground, and was outstanding in the TAC Cup Elimination Final where he had 17 disposals and booted four second-half goals, Matt Balmer (Fox Sports journalist), Fox Sports, September 2018

What he says

Theyve helped me a lot in the last two years with my growth on the field and off the field, Atu Bosenavulagi, Channel Seven, November 2018.

You beauty! Three fantastic draft picks, and with our other young guns (JDG, Stephenson, et al), our future is bright.

Like Isaac has a nice strong frame already and has the attributes you want if looking to develop a player in the pressure forward role.

Joffa is married to Atu's grandmothers sister. So that makes Joffa his great uncle, more than a family friend, but the kid refers to him as his grandfather

The first thing you notice is how agile and quick he is. I assume is he is another you can play on the half back line who can break lines with his breathtaking speed and catch the opposition defence out of position. He could be anything if he has the right attitude and beefs up in the gym. Reminds me a bit like the Hill brothers.

Yes, I can see the family resemblance
