Was infamous for lack of defensive pressure at a club not famous for defensive pressure.
Either he an't be taught, in which case we don't want him, OR he had bad teachers and we can show him the light.
I wouldn't say no to a 2-goal a game forward who could also develop the required defensive mindset. |

Carlton would be neglectful not to take both Menz and Goddard as rookies. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Could do a Nick Davis in a final for you.
Only if we have a spot to be filled. If we don't, nah. _________________ Get back on top. |

Correct mate.
But they may end up with the second pick in future drafts and that does not go down to well with there members. _________________ no second chances |

Too slow to apply forward pressure. Tackle numbers very low. |

I don't think we need him, we've got a truck load of medium forwards and midfielders who either are or should be kicking a goal or two. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Put him in the forward line next to Fasolo over at Carlton.
That gives valuable and well-paid work to two players who might otherwise wind up playing WAFL or SANFL. And at Carlton, they'll average four or five goals a game between them, sometimes six. That will make the Carlton fans deliriously happy.
Between them, they will also give up two or three goals a quarter through a failure to chase and pressure, which is eight or ten extra goals a game for 17 other teams, which will make all the other teams' fans deliriously happy.
And provide more time for ad-breaks so the TV stations will be happy.
And better highlight tapes, and more entertaining games, which will make the AFL beancounters happy.
So that's a win-win-win-win-win-win-win. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Kane's still keen if we are!
My goodness you have taken back with that reference, I'd forgotten all about that theme, gold! When was that, 2009? _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

I remember hearing a lot of the same things about Medhurst when he first came over; just sayin' _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

^ Medhurst was not injury-prone, though. (I'm curious to know more about this injection in Menzel's groin that supposedly "went wrong".) |

Can certainly kick a goal. Averages about 2 per game. Which is probably close to elite. This is his big asset. A good offensive medium forward.
Seems to lack defensive ability. I think this is the biggest down side and why Cats have moved on. He can't affect a turnover. A massive part of today's game plan requirement.
He was in a similar situation last year, but was given a 1 year extension on smaller $.
Apparently 5 or so clubs are interested. |
I agree with this. He would indeed be great back up. We are not going to be able to get our best forwards on the ground every match. Menzel would be a damn good second best. Lack of tackling pressure is a big drawback, but he has unique qualities and talents that could add another layer of unpredictability and brilliance to our forward line. I would certainly not be unhappy to get him. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Exactly. But how often will Jamie get on the park?? Need to be both realistic and shrewd. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

...according to his manager. The media has it that Blues, Saints and GCs have already passed on him. So including the Cats that’s 4 teams that don’t want him
Seems like 4 might be his unlucky number _________________ https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/sav-sinks-the-dockers/ |
