Dilemma or maybe not but Big Ben chimed loud and clear that he could be part of our 22
With Big Mason when ready could we run him Ben and Checkers in the same
fwd line
And if too congested who is the one that misses out _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Reid. Because Checkers plays a utility role, and covers large distances. Not sure Reidy's body will still allow him that kind of flexibility.
However, if you are premiership player Ben Reid, you might well be thinking "F yeah! I can do this!"
Time will tell. _________________ Get back on top.

I don't think we can possibly play Reid and Cox together. Zero pressure between them. _________________ "We ain't gotta dream no more" |

They won’t play them all together Baz but they may now be able to manage our four big blokes a little better ( I’m including Miochek in this ) by not burning them out before the business end comes around.
There might be a time when Grundy is sore and Cox can step into the ruck and Reid plays the main marking forward role.
Reid, Cox and Checkers won’t want to “ managed “ because they would be concerned about losing their spot but if it keeps them fresher for September, the club will make that decision for them. |

Reid can play back with Moore to allow Roughead and Cox to share the ruck if Grundy is managed (which he should be)
Cant play Reid, Cox and Mihocek in the one forward line when we have Beams/Elliot/De Goey/Stephenson/Hoskin-Elliott/Thomas available.
Would be great if Sier were able to come in next week for Adams, but it might be Varcoe/Daicos/Aish/ that gets the call-up.
No doubt, the selection committee will identify players to be managed and give players a chance to come in and stake a claim.
We have yet to have a debutante in 2019- its a shame Tyler Brown/Kelly have both been injured. Murphy and Appleby must be a chance at some stage as well. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Nixters tend to forget that checkers was a backman at vfl level.
He go can go back or forward.
Same with Reid.
I would want Sier and Wells to come back in.
Maybe JT and Levi to miss for those 2. |

JT probably misses for Varcoe next week, doesn't he? Varcoe hasn't been great but Thomas has been terrible and doesn't bring Varcoe's defensive effort to the table. |

I expect Reid, Cox and Mihocek to play together in our forward line this week.
It's really just a matter of playing 2 talls, as Checkers is a medium tall and very mobile. It would also allow Reid and Cox to spend more time on the bench.
It may not work, but I think it can, and we'll only know by trying it in a game. |

We have so increased our flexibility with firstly grabbing Roughead then the
work put in to Elliott & Moore has added to that flexibility
Roughead back or at a pinch ruck
Checkers back or forward
Reid same but some his ruck last night not shabby
Cox forward and ruck
Moore in his form anywhere —but he is so close to comps best defender
Sure as I posted no to Checkers/Reid/Cox in fwd but with what we have by finals they’ll nut out the best
A media said “Can’t see a weakness in Collingwood “
Maybe he’s right but we have every base covered barring injury _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Reid offers way more than Cox. He's more mobile and reads the game a lot better. He's also very good over head and defensively. Plus he has experience. Mihocek is much the same. Could Checkers play around stoppages? He's quite big and very mobile. Just not sure about his fitness. |

The thing is, Reid has played one game.
Sure it was a great game, but it's still only one game.
Lets see how he goes in a few more weeks.
I think we can afford to let Cox sit out another week to make sure his ankle is right to go. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Reid has played a number of good games including in the VFL.
He is now match fit for the first time in years.
Like Wells he is an A grader when fit.
Keep playing him when this rare thing occurs.
Will it last.... probably not but hey any game by Reid or Wells is a bonus. |

I agree with 'Duff Soviet Union' all three together is too little defensive pressure. If ever there was a game we could win without Grundy the Carlton game is it - I'd rest him and have Cox Reid do the ruck.
or rest Roughead and put Reid or Checkers down there.
Good problem to have - all are stars _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |
