Machinations:

We started with:
41 (412)
44 (362)
57 (182)
59 (158)
60 (146)
Total 1260 points.

When Tarryn Thomas bid was matched at 8, NM lost picks 42, 47, 48 and 49 and gained picks 65, 95 and 97.

After that we had:
42 (395)
44 (362)
54 (220)
56 (194)
57 (182)
Total 1353 (+93 points).

When Nick Blakey bid was matched at 10, SYD lost picks 34, 39 and 40 and gained picks 47 and 97.

After that we had:
40 (429)
42 (395)
53 (233)
55 (207)
56 (194)
Total 1458 (+105 points).

When Isaac Quaynor bid was matched at 13, COL lost picks 40, 42 and 53 and gained picks 64 and 95.

After that we had:
55 (207)
56 (194)
64 (101)
Total 502 points.

By the time Will Kelly was bid on at 29 these picks were:
53 (233)
54 (220)
64 (101)
Total 554 (+52 points).

When Will Kelly bid was matched at 29, COL lost picks 53, 54 and 64 and gained picks 63 and 99.

Obviously we then traded out 63 and picked up Atu at the end.

99/100 for the above summation that clarifies the moving machinations of the points system in the draft. The only query though is:

"did we go into points deficit for 2019 Draft"? The AFL points table suggests that pick 29 was worth 653 points. Therefore subtracting our 554 points means we are possibly 99 points in deficit???

Please clarify MM. Cheers

Is that points table before or after the father-son discount?

Pick 29 (653 points) less 197 point discount (fixed discount after first round) =456.

That was quick. Any Father-sons or Academy players?

I posted one name for a guy eligible next year Knightmare mentioned:

Haven't seen him this year as he wasn't on Oakleigh's u18 list, but Thariel Ter was in the U16 Metro squad and when I saw him in 2017 looked a goer from the Pies 2019 NGA - wrote a bit on him here last year:
http://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/19630178/knightmares-afl-draft-wrap-neafl-midfielder-jordan-keras-continues-dominate

Stui has mentioned Isaac Quaynor has 2 younger brothers in the NGA, but not sure their ages: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/isaac-quaynor-set-to-become-a-collingwoods-next-cult-hero/news-story/dc70b3d837d17f507ee4fafb126fe084

No idea what motivated them to recruit him.

I thought if Smith was going to play for another club, it would be for one of the Queensland clubs so it came as a surprise to me.

He is a beautiful kick of the footy - they value that and he may suit their game style better than he suited ours. Or, as has already been noted, they might just want the Collingwood IP.
