AFL News. Collingwood and North Melb get harder draw 2019

3 of the sides are MCG clubs and with GWS an WCE we probably now avoid the SCG toy ground and freo away. And only one game in adelaide. Probably get the pauperoos, and western welfare as away games at Marvel but only one game against Essenscum and carlscum. The WCE and GWS will get more games at the MCG which could stuff them. To be honest unless they have a draw done over 4 years it is the only fair way. Not sure how the AFL can accomodate the "derbies" but I don't care,

No surprise we get a tougher draw for finishing in the top 6.

Bombers finished in the middle 6, so won't get such a leg up. Freo might be interesting as a bottom 6 bolter given they've added Hogan and Lobb. May depend upon Sandi availability and will need Fyfe to stay on the park.

Doesn�t mean shit. What about the teams that got us as double ups after finishing 13th. They may have thought potential wins yet we beat everybody outside Richmond in our double up games. GWS finished top 6 yet may slide without Shiel, Lobb and Scully, we may get them twice who knows.

The teams we play doesn't bother me (we play them all once, and some twice. Woohoo. It means shit, considering we flogged Adelaide at home when they were one of the flag favourites, and flogged Essendon when the media was raving about them finishing top 4. Sometimes bottom sides can come out firing and really push you to the limits. Weather. It means nothing to me.

What bothers me are the breaks and travel times. The last few years we've been royally screwed after ANZAC Day. Not just by the short break we get, but by the opposition we played next (and how they got an extra or day or two since their last game). THAT really cost us, and it's done deliberately so we consider whether ANZAC is worth the trouble and give it up.

You can guarantee a game v Brisbane at the GABBA and probably GC up there.

We will play Richmond, West Coast and Melbourne twice no doubt. Should mean Freo in Melbourne though

If we beat all the teams we play twice both times then they will all be two games worse off. Which puts them further down the ladder and makes our draw easier.

So the best team gets the easiest draw and the worst team the hardest draw.

Example: Carlscum won't get to play anyone below them twice - or even once - so they will have the hardest draw.

In a perfect world they would be relegated.

who cares. Of course we get a
"tougher draw". But I'm pumped. Our team is electrically galvanized...welded together. Not losing a single player to rival teams is an absolute victory. Shows that our guys are backing us in, and we them. Dayne Beams... is the extra electronic crystal... he polarizes in the same way, and we are absolutely on.
I welcome the harder draw, because it is the impetus we need.
