2019 end of season will be a challenge.
Older players like Wells, Dunn, Goldsack, Varcoe, Reid and a few younger depth players might be in their last year, or second last year.

We might have to spend some of next years draft points to cover recruiting in 2018 draft.

2019-2020 we have lots pf players coming out of contract. A big challenge for list management and injury management.

Yep - an issue for many a side having success over a few years...hopefully we're one of those successful sides again by then, and we aren't in a dire salary cap dilemma by having overpaid players who haven't yet reached their peak

Murray is not uncontracted he's signed for 2019 so can't be delisted. He can be if and when the B Sample comes back positive, but not before then.
That's not likely to happen before final list lodgements.

Thanks MM.

This info is very helpful to us and we appreciate you work.

I think we can expect Daicos and Goldsack to sign on soon. I also read that Greenwood had an offer in front of him, but you'd know better than I.

I think we can also expect the delisting of Blair, with Smith and McLarty in danger too. As I've mentioned in other threads, I have no idea what the deal is with Murray. It looks like he's going to get 2 years minimum from reports, so I guess it's likely that he'll be let go?

With the rookies, you'd also think Mihocek will sign on and be on the main list soon. Madgen to sign on with Oxley probably out of chances.

I think the list is in good shape and am looking forward to the draft and the news of a few more signatures.

The Dogs had something like 12 or 15 players coming out of contract this year. That's why it's important to grab the Premiership when you can. If everything turns rotten later, you still have the Premiership.

I’ve seen various reports of Murray being 2018 and 2019. In any event, a contract doesn’t prevent him being delisted. We’ll have more insight come list lodgement on 31 October.

Not really relevant, but the B sample will already be back. ASADA website says it usually occurs within one week of the A sample notification: https://www.asada.gov.au/rules-and-violations/rule-violation-management-process

If he has elected provisional suspension or if he gets an actual suspension then it seems likely he would be unable to fulfil his side of the contract.

Unsigned: Jarryd Blair, Josh Daicos, Tyson Goldsack, Levi Greenwood, Kayle Kirby, Jack Madgen, Sam McLarty, Adam Oxley, Josh Smith

Impressive rookie Brody Mihocek has re-signed for two years, as AFL.com.au forecast in August. Josh Daicos and Levi Greenwood will both receive new deals, as should Tyson Goldsack, although his wait continues. But Kirby's heart condition could result in him retiring. The Pies' sole departure so far is Alex Fasolo, who signed as a free agent with Carlton, so Blair, Madgen, McLarty, Oxley and Smith will be nervous.

Anyone got an actual news report link for the Mihocek extension? I only see supporter tweets.
