i guess we wait now for the whiny emails where people contend that Beams is so selfish for letting personal matters get in the way of him devoting 100% of his time to collingwood and that he owes it to the fans to play better and try harder because we pay 190 dollars per year for a seasons ticket.

It was fantastic to see him back with a smile on his face!!! Very Happy

Hope he doesn't do too much running on on the track or at least in runners only - geez, it looks as hard as concrete!

Good to see him out there.

I really hope he has a great season in 2020.

Laughing Laughing I reckon that'd be a great read for him though, with depression often being combined with anxiety.

I agree with that.

I don't know whether anyone else has mentioned this on here before. Last season Swanny was on Sam Newman's podcast but I only listened to it last week. He blamed the hard surface at the training facility for the high injuries and said that he struggled to run on it with footy boots on and preferred to wear runners. He also said that he did most of his hard interval running on a treadmill in the gym rather than on the ground.

Sigh. Unmitigated disaster. Hope he gets right, I mean that but it’s a disaster for a player that arguably we didn’t need!

What a disaster trade this has become. Hopefully the wise football Dept wrote something into his contract knowing his past issues otherwise Eddie might find someone to sack over this

A sad and unfortunate end for all concerned and a lack of due diligence on the part of the Club.

Very unfortunate for Beams and Collingwood. We took a risk and it looks like a fail. You cannot always get the picks right but I would rather have taken a risk on a young kid.

A football club is always bigger than any one player and in a competition where a playing list is restricted by a salary cap it's seemingly getting to the point where it would be best for both Beams and Collingwood if he takes a medical retirement.

Such a shame. Hope he gets his head right.
We need to look at cutting him off the list and freeing up the cap space now.
I think he would be best to walk away from the game.
