So most of us here think that letting Daisy go to carlton was a blessing. Believe it or not it cost us a flag. You dont believe me? Well here goes.

1. We let Daisy go to Carlton as a restricted free agent.
2. We got a compensation pick for losing him (pick 11).
3. We then traded some picks including pick 11 to WCE for pick 6 (part of that trade was based on an assurance that we not take Dom Sheed).
4. WCE used pick 11 to take Dom Sheed.

Dom Sheed is the <snip> who benefited from the illegal block by Rioli and kicked the goal that cost us the flag!!!

Daisy Thomas, the gift that keeps giving.

On this theory of 6 degrees of separation, 1977's Gerald Betts may have won us the 2010 Grand Final

Why stop there?

In 2004, a three-way deal sees Collingwood trade Bo Nixon to Hawthorn along with pick 7 – used by the Hawks used to secure Jordan Lewis.

In the three-way deal, Collingwood received pick 10 and Chad Morrison from West Coast in return for draft selection 37, which the Eagles used to snare Mark LeCras.

Collingwood took Chris Egan with pick 10, who played 27 games across four years at the club.

only if you take it seriously.....

Wow, that Egan, Lewis, LeCras trade is not one that is spoken of very often. That has turned out to be historically bad some 15 years later!!!! It shows you that winning the trade means jack shit unless you also nail the draft pick!

And what did we get from this trade, other than years of regret?

Yeah, I wonder who the Eagles would have picked at 6 instead of 11. Would Sheed have still been available Confused

Sheed would have been an Eagle either way.
