Have watched the last five minutes about five times.

Leaving aside umpire interpretations, for me, the crucial, defining moment was our last inside 50 from Treloar. He crumbs the ball off a pack and kicks forward on his left because Hoskin-Elliott fails to block Cripps' progress toward Treloar.

A half-decent block or shepherd there allows Treloar time and space to get on his right and carry the McGovern pack and hit up De Goey who has no-one between him and the goal...

Or AT could have handballed over Cripps to WHE in space, right? WHE could then have run to 55 with ball in hand.

Precisely, and WH-E could have weighted his kick to the favour of Jordan De Goey.... sigh... if only!!

Herald-Fun just posted a sub-only article on the three moments that lost us the flag in the final two minutes.

I haven't read it.

Haven't watched, heard or read anything about it since the second the final siren went and the tv got turned off (it was lucky that I didn't smash it to pieces with a cricket bat).

The only way to forget this nightmare is to never re-live it. I want to forget all grand final losses, why would I want this pain to dig in even deeper.

MY LAST word, on this sad, sad topic. I would rather slide down, a 40 foot razor blade, using my balls as brakes, than watch that awful GF ever, ever, ever, ever again. !!!!!! Got it ?? Good. !!!!! The End.

its actually a terrific game. I've watched it about 10 times (spoiler alert, no matter how many times you watch it, the result is the same).

In the first quarter, it is still hard to believe that we can lose. However, from the 10 minute mark of the second quarter onwards, there is a feeling that we are just hanging on for grim life. If not for Langdon in the second and third quarter, we would have lost this game by 10 goals.

WCE deserved to win. They were the better team.

Tried to muster up the courage to watch the game, but I just couldn't do it.

I prefer watching the prelim instead Smile

I haven't watched it yet,and i'm not sure if I will. One thing that nobody ever mentions is that last kick from Sheed on the boundary line that won them the game. That would probably be a one in ten shot in a normal game, and a one in 50 shot in a grand final. In all the years I've been watching football I can't recall a grand final being decided by a kick from the boundary line with two minutes to go.It just doesn't happen in grand finals, but of course it happened to us.No matter what people say,we were unlucky that day.Very unlucky.

I have a hard time visiting the afl homepage while it displays the full time score on the right hand side. What do you reckon? Razz

While channel surfing a week or so ago I came across the game on fox footy literally at the first bounce...

I watched the first qtr then turned it off.

I was in a foul mood for the next two days....

My other half wanted to know what was wrong.... telling her made me sh*tty all over again

NO! I have a "losing Grand Final ritual" since 2002:

1. Go home
2. early dinner
3. go to sleep
4. media black out of papers and review shows
5. NAB trade radio immersion
6. Then "total denial" the GF loss never happened!
7. When convinced otherwise, rationalise that 2nd was a GREAT achievement
