I said after a few minutes to my son, the umpires will determine this game. Didn’t have to be Nostradamus to figure that out. Absolutely rorted by the officials. Frees not paid. Frees paid to WC. Blocking. Not paid 50m penalties.

It came down to an appalling umpiring decision in the end - a block on Maynard many, many times worse than the free given to Lynch in 2002. Well done Pies on a memorable season. To be honest, I didn’t think we were going to win most of the day as they just looked stronger in the air, and more like a premiership side. After the first 20 minutes they always looked better. Well done Adams and Langdon and Mason, in particular.

That shank up the middle with 50 seconds to go was worse than having to chew and swallow your own vomit. To mis-kick it was back enough. To allow an almost uncontested mark...unforgivable.

It’s afub following the Pies, but I just about think the heartache cancels it out and then some.

Who the hell can be stuffed putting themselves through this crap every year? We know how to make GFs, we just don’t know how to win them.
