I thought Treloar's was the sealer, Grundy the icing. Tbh though, I really couldn't see us losing after half time. Generally, when a team gets off to a flier, the supposedly better opposition usually gets back on level terms in the 2nd quarter. We extended our lead, with Higgins' late goal only due to Phillips slipping over. Despite the commentators' best efforts, I thought it would take some major catastrophe to lose it from there. This team just doesn't lose games of footy after being 50 points up

We do draw them though!

yeah, that was that team, not this one! Razz

^ The number (4) of soft or outright illegal goals Higgins has got against us is doing my head in...

the moment in the first when WHE dropped a difficult attempt running back with the flight. we had no crumbers and they scooped it up, went the length and rewolt missed the shot.
from that point on I knew it wasn't going to happen again. Richmond would of thought there goals were going to come from simple and lucky turnovers.
sorry tiggers.

This is gonna sound stupid, but....

I watched the replay last night. The first quarter was a real arm wrestle, both sides going back and forwards, then Cox took a big mark from a defensive kick down the line, moved it on quickly and we goaled. First of the game.

From that moment, something clicked and we dominated the rest of the first half.

There was a stat on TV maybe 3 years ago went something like this.

Over the history of this statistic, whenever a team scores 6 goals in a row they have gone on to win in something like 85% of the times. The only times they have lost is when the other team also kicked 6 in a row. No team has ever lost, having kicked 8 in a row.

Now.. I think the 8 in a row one might have been broken recently so I wasn't hugely confident at half time. I'm also a very nervous watcher, which doesn't help. I also thought we were starting to stuff around with it too much coming up to the half and trying too hard to walk it in. Speaking of walking, our run had dried up a bit too. Nevertheless, that's when the head thought we were most likely home. The nerves said a completely different story. After all, if anyone is going to drop a final from there, it's us, right?

Grundy's goal helped but the beers didn't come out until a couple of minutes later. It looked by that stage that enough Tigers had stopped believing, they couldn't get it past half way and we were finishing over the top of them

I knew we would win when I saw the Richmond players in the race before the first bounce smiling and and joking around
Heck I even saw Jack whistling
I thought these guys think this is going to be a walk in the park
How wrong were they
