isn't getting a game in a very strong line up now at the Gold Coast. He would not cost the world (he would still be expensive)...and we might have to trade away someone of value to get him.

He would walk into our Full Forward position. Club would be mad not to enquire about him at seasons end.

Let's say he is 500k and would cost us a late first round pick 12 to 18 or early second round range would be fair.

Thoughts?

Two-Metre Peter
Turns 24 in September.
203 cm
Key Forward/Ruck.
66 games. 85 goals.

This is a good suggestion if we are going to move on from Cox.

But why is he not getting a game? Witts is the #1 ruck choice and King is the #1 FF choice. Is it that simple? Or is there something else keeping him out?

I think this is a better option than Ben Brown who is going to enter 2021 at 28 and ask for big dollars.

When you look at the starting forward line names like King, lukosius, Rankin, Day et.all some very high end talent. And like you say with Witts in ruck you don't want to go too tall.

The attraction of having Wright at the pies is he is the main man. Suddenly Elliott, Stephenson, Hoskin-Eliott can focus on crumbing. Mihocek and Degoey can play as second and third talls. It would straighten up our side so much I think.

It makes sense to me. Could be an easy trade and an affordable wage for us. I think we can forget Cameron and Daniher. And I think Ben Brown isn't a great fit.

Are there any other tall forwards available? Preferable under 27.

500k? I wouldn't have thought so...

Gleeson, May 30, 2019:

"...Peter Wright ... has signed a new three-year deal, which will see him remain at the club for eight years and become a free agent at the end of his contract."

If that's all correct, he's a free agent at the end of 2022.

I missed his resigning I thought he was out of contract this year or the next.

I believe he was a Collingwood supporter as a kid and desperate for us to draft him with our pick 5 (in 2014). All the phantoms and rankings had him in that range, but with Moore as a guaranteed father/son, we elected to go with DeGoey, leaving him to head to the Suns.

I wonder how he feels about the decision, and if he'd be interested now... definitely the best, most realistic option out there if he's gettable.

I wouldn't have thought so, the way they are tracking he could be Captain/Coach by seasons end! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Laughing

He might want to get out of there. We could have the 3Ds. Darcy Moore, Darcy Cameron & Darcy Fogarty.
