The peanut contradicted himself on TV last week.
Said on Footy Classifieds that GWS would win & win well, then on Ch 9 news he picked us as his tip for the week! _________________ Ohhhh the premierships a cakewalk for the good old COLLINGWOOD |

Sam Newman once said "Tipping is overrated". He was right. Knowing a lot about AFL footy doesn't mean you are a good tipster.
In my opinion Lloyd usually makes a lot of sense. If his recent comments seem to be inconsistent with comments that he previously made, it might be because Collingwood has only kicked 30 goals in the last 3 weeks and he's lost a bit of faith.
David King, who has been bagged by many Nicksters in the past, thinks that the Prelim should be very close and Collingwood might win. So, do we all love him now? |

You can take Lloyd to task for flip flopping but I actually think he's got a point and it'll be the collective performance of our forwards tomorrow night that'll make or break the game.
Of late I've felt that for every one of them making a significant contribution another has had little influence on the contest or the scoreboard.
Cox is the obvious one that must impose himself on the game tomorrow.
Only 2 goals from his past 5 games and only the 1 contested mark during the final series. Has kicked multiple goals in 4 of his 22 games and gone goalless 9 times.
Fair to say that to date his output doesn't go close to matching the hype.
Varcoe just 11 goals from 18 games though 8 have come from his last 6 matches. Not a high possession winner with the 9 disposals in both finals. Averages under 3 tackles a game in 2018. Kicked multiple goals on the one occasion this season and has gone goalless 10 times.
Stephenson has been fantastic in his debut season but it wasn't weight of possession that drove him to be named the rising star.
It was his ability to score and we need him to turn the 0.3 of last week into 2.1 tomorrow.
Mayne while not strictly a forward does find himself inside the 50 often enough and with 200 career goals to his name you'd think he might have found a way to produce more than 5 goals for the year.
It would be great if he could turn back the clock and chime in with a goal or two against Richmond.
If we can get 5 or 6 goals collectively out of these players then it'll go a long way to sealing the win.

Riewoldt didn't kick a single goal in their first final. |

Good points Swoop.
We seem like a 70 point team at the moment.
We will probably need to be closer to 90 points if we are to be right in it at the end.
Clearances will decide this game. If we can get some clean ball into our forward line often enough, then we might be able to lock it in and get away with a modest winning score. If they do win the “ time in forward line “ stat, then it will be our last game for the year. |

It’s been wet and greasy both finals and windy as all F last week too.
WEEK 1
Rich 95-64 Haw
Melb 75-46 Geel
Syd 30-79 GWS
WC 86-70 Coll (3 very late goals to pinch it)
WEEK 2
Haw 71-104 Melb
Coll 69-59 GWS (plenty of chances, very inaccurate)
Not a hell of a lot of high scores in the finals thus far. _________________ Est. 2002 |

To see how well the forward line (including forward delivery) is functioning, look at the I50 entries and centre clearances. Look at that first quarter against GWS, for example. Wetness was not an excuse there. The teams that could not score from their periods of dominance are now gone (e.g. Hawthorn). |

SO, MATTY, my lad, will YOU NOW admit our Magpies have a very versatile forward line, that revolves around FAR more than just one player, De Goey ????, FAR MORE.????? Oh and I trust you took note of the amazing display form our Mason Cox, the huge Yankee boy, who was basically best on ground, he set up the big win !!!!!
So, Matty, have you wiped the egg off your face yet, or what ????? LOL _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.
