Yes Cam. Possibly this was largely motivated by a desire to play DeGod one-out in the goal square, particularly given that GWS didn't seem able to find a player with the right combination of attributes to stand him.

This actually worries me a bit. We seem at be playing DeG more and more as a specialist full forward, and it risks making us one dimensional. Yes, yes, we have used Stevo, WHE, Cox, Adams, Thomas, Sidebottom, Teloar, and several others out of the square this year, but these last few weeks we seem to have been drifting more and more towards using de Goey as our default full forward. This is not good for his development (he should play all over the ground, including in the middle, at least half the time) and I'm not convinced that it gains us any extra goals.

JdeG gets the pill a lot, but he gives away way too many frees running into packs pretending that no-one can tackle him successfully instead of looking harder for an unguarded teammate, and his set shot kicking is only fair. WHE is a mile better. So is Stevo, not to mention Thomas and Checkers.

JdeG is THE most likely to convert a ball deep inside our 50 into a possession and a scoring attempt, yep. But Thomas and WHE are the most likely to convert an attempt into a goal rather than a point. So, on balance, call it more nearly even between the three of them.

Running a mix of players through the 50 makes us harder to match up on and more successful. When you are on a good thing, stick to it!

I don't think JdeG is over his bone bruising. He's carrying an injury for mine hence the overtime up forward.

I think he's not being used in the midfield because Sier is doing the bullicking role perfectly and we are winning the centre clearances. He's being played where he's needed most.

We're spoiled for choice in the midfield. No reason why we can't mix it up by playing him mid and moving Ads forward for a spell. With Sier and Jordy in the middle, Jordy can play more outside mid and use his acceleration to bang it forward.

We need to keep the tiggers backs from getting settled.

That was stressful and painful to watch! We did enough to win...
