Gifted ride from the umpires

Shocking goal kicking

Awful turnovers from the backline

Amazing pressure - we made GWS shit the bed twice tonight.

JDG - well done

Grundy - in BEAST mode all night

Cox - Thank gawd for those two marks in the 4th

Langdon was brilliant

Well done Pies!!!!

I just read one of your posts in the game day thread after JDG’s Free in the last quarter. You called it lucky I believe? Seriously. I called the free while at the game live from my vantage point on the half forward line, and the replays clearly shows his arm being dislodged from its socket in the marking contest.

What gives? After quarter time the GWS got a pretty sweet ride.

All of Howe, Teeloar and Goldsack backed up there comeback games with even better performances.

Treloar looked like the AT of old, and Howe was a rock.

Great crowd by the way.72,000;against a team literally without any supporters on an Arctic night is a really good turn out.

Brilliant last quarter by the Future Captain. When the going gets tough, ....

Went to ground a few times before that which was the reason I didn’t award him any votes.

More intercept possessions than any player on the ground. Just a gun.

Yep, he did a Schazza tonight. Very Happy Read the incoming ball beautifully in the last quarter.

JDG was amazing. His pick ups off his boot laces in the wet and quick dish offs were elite beyond belief. Could have had 6 goals.

Steele BOG.

Grundy sensational. That last quarter he activated beast mode.

Treloar was damn good!

Maynard, take a bow, son! DESTROYED Daniel Russo.

The backline was superb.

Forward line was sloppy, entries to half forward stunk, but my God, we pretty much led GWS, the fake superstar team, from Go to Whoa.

Loved it.

Yep I’ll add Howes marks and spoils, OMG!!
Will Adams get reported for fighting back against the turd?
Damn it was cold!
Damn it was bloody exhausting! So proud! So happy!

So fricken shocked

We are in a prelim! Woweeeee

Who saw that coming!

Goody looked ageless at times

Langdon is very smart doesn’t waste his energy

Sidey sidey sidey he killed it!

An ugly win in a scrappy contests where we failed to take our opponents to the sword and convert our opportunities like we should have. Still, this team continues to find ways to win and get over the line. No one expected us to get this far but here we are, in a prelim. Anything is possible now. I expected a bit more enthusiasm from the crowd though. We certainly didn't bring the noise but we brought the Valium.

It was FREEZING at the G tonight. I was there, and the crowd did it’s best under the circumstances. Not a lot of goals, sub zero temperatures, 500 opposition fans...but I’ve lost my freakin’ voice and nearly took on Carlton supporter who was wearing his club colours and dishing it out on the Pies, so I did my best.

Gee the crowd were as loud as hell on tv. Thought the fans did a wonderful job to help the boys!

During the third quarter, when I thought we may have kicked ourselves out of it and may get tired legs in the last quarter after the trip to Perth, I cast my mind back over the season......

We've had some bad moments - Broomy breaking his leg, Dunne and Shazz with their knees, Treloar with his hammies, Trav Varcoe losing his sister.

But I was thinking that even if this turned out to be the end of the road for us this year, gee we've had some wins - JDG has come of age, Jaidyn Stephenson is the Rising Star, Brodie has realized his potential, Sier has emerged, we discovered Mihocek, Chris Mayne overcame his woes of last season, WHE has played his best football so far, Phillips is emerging as an enormous endurance player of great merit, Sidey has got even better, the backline has matured beyond its young years with Crisp, Maynard and Langdon (who had to over come significant injury) coming of age..

No matter what happens next week, this has been a marvellous season. All credit to all the players and coaches. So very proud to be a Magpie supporter of fifty years standing.

Well done to control yourself RH!!! It would've been very, very, very hard.
I am guilty of hitting a Hawthorn supporter over the head with my brolly years ago at Waverly, because he wasn't there to support his team, but to rubbish mine!!! Idiots.
