Hard to get a gauge on this mob
There best in undeniable and very good but they don't often bring it in every department
There very good front runners and like the ball to swing from end to end uncontested fashion
There best wins come from unaccountable footy
They love to run in waves off the HBF and use the corridor
There not noted as 2 way running side it's been the knock on them for years
We play our best when we win contested and ground ball
Last week in the last term we lost both badly and were beaten by side who were just relentless at the contest when we dropped off a tad.
We were far from disgraced and probably were the best side beaten in week 1
GWS v Sydney wasn't a skill fest and really the swans were very ordinary so hard to figure what sort of form there really in
If the ground is wet and it becomes a slog fest of contested and ground ball gets then that suits us well
Our defence will be under sized again so we need to employ our best team defence we've seen
If they get clean ball into Cameron and Lobb we are in for a long painful night
If they play Keefe on Cox I like our chances better Keefe has never been a great 1 on 1 defender but does have the height. It would leave Davis to be 3rd man in which we can't allow
We need to tag there HBF tight and make them accountable
H
Geez I'm torn here
We have pluses and minuses as they do
I believe this will be won by the side who truely want it the most which I believe is us
They are carrying loads of expectation with the list they have (23 first round draft picks on there list if I heard abc radio correctly the other day)
It's a team loaded with talent but talent doesn't always equate to team performance
The good wife has arranged a nice bbq dinner tonight with a couple of couples we know well (except they both support the lions) but they have been told to cheer for the pies or be buried down the back yard
She's blown up a few black n white balloons for decorations and has the table set with black n white alternate napkins (yes she knows the importance of this game and is using positive vibes for us too)
I'm allowing them to wear on of my magpie caps (not optional) and expect them to cheer
I've just restocked the fridge in the media room with ample corona's and limes so we won't need to miss any of the action
The lady folk are apparently heading down by the river (as the wife says out of ear shot) to sip on a few reds and talk whatever they talk about in there gaggles
I'm nervous as heck and wanted to get online and book flights for next week but didn't want to jinx us so I've told the wife to be ready to book if (when) we win
Ok here it is

I haven't seen it mentioned on here, maybe someone has brought it up and I just didn't see it but, to me Cox looked really overawed by the experience.
Obviously his newness to the game and the country, add on top of that his first final and from what I've heard that ground is pretty daunting, in particular the noise of the crowd really hits you.
He should obviously feel a lot more comfortable on the MCG. |

Cox is just too passive at times for his own good - gets knocked out of contests too easy and his kicking for most lacks penetration (in golfing terms, they would be chips at best) - they spend too much time in the air giving opposition plenty of time to intercept/spoil. He needs to improve to have an effect on tonight's outcome. 'Pies by 4 goals. _________________ Toby for President |

Compare the positions, talent everywhere they have.
But we have a team. A banged up Commodore vs a Ferrari for sure, but you just know the Commodore will keep going. The Ferrari may just splutter.
The toughest gig in footy is a talented Weagles team, over there, in a final. We could easily have won.
I’m going with the bookies. Pies relatively easily. |

Cox needs to really lift tonight, shocker last week, he owes us a big one tonight, and I reckon he will trouble their backs. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.
