Four players in the 40 man squad
Scott Pendlebury
Brodie Grundy
Jordan DeGoey
Stele Sidebottom
Awesome effort and all four well deserved!
Unfortunately I hear on the rumour mill that Grundy IS NOT in the final 22 that has actually already been decided and will be announced on Wednesday. Rumour is that Gawn has been selected as the ONLY ruckman.
I will be filthy if this is the case and the AFL will have need to have some bloody good answers for us all.
I am happy for Gawn to be in as he fully deserves it - had a great season.
However Grundy arguably has had a better season and if you reference the AFL's OWN player ratings system, Gawn is not even in the top 2 performing ruckmen in 2018!

Grundy is the #1 rated ruckman, McEvoy 2nd and Gawn third. Grundy is the 7th rated player overall and the ONLY ruckman in the top 10!!

It’d certainly be a pity if they left the best player in the competition out of the 22.

If Lance Franklin makes the team (shouldn't even be in the squad) ASADA need to get to the All Australian selection committee and do some tests!

Insane if Grundy misses out. Under what logic could you exclude him from even sitting on the Interchange bench!? It's not like it's impossible for a side to have two ruckmen.

Sidey and Grundy should get the nod.
De Goey's time will come.
Pendles not as good as in prior years.
Stephenson for Rising Star.

Steele never AA before, that's surprising, probably wont change this year. He is the reason we are going to Perth next week instead of playing at the MCG

There is no way he misses out... How embarrassing would it be for the all Australian selectors if he finishes top 5 in the Brownlow... We all know he has been best on ground easily 6-7 times giving at least 18-21 votes... Throw in a couple 1's and 2's and he has 20+ votes locked away.
Need to remember Luke Darcy is on the panel and he loves Grundy.

It would be pretty damning if Grundy missed out. Ridiculous even.
Caddy and Breust get in the team before DeGoey for scoring output.
Can't see Steele being given the nod either, but he'd be 2nd best placed amongst our players. I think
Oliver, Gaff, Cripps, Dangerfield, Martin (given his hybrid role) and possibly Yeo, Macrae and Neale all get in the AA team ahead of Steele who was brilliant early a bit quieter in the middle and came home relatively strongly.

With the link you provided Gawn is #2.
Here is the player comparison between the 2 for season 2018.
https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=5&playerStatus2=A&tid2=12&type=A&pid1=3812&pid2=3346&fid1=S&fid2=S
Grundy leads in:
20.8 disposal average to 16.3
15.1 effective disposal average to 11.6
12.6 contested possession average to 8.6
5.3 tackle average to 2.5
5.5 clearance average to 2.7
3.9 stoppage clearance average to 1.7
Gawn leads in:
4.6 mark average to 3.6
2.3 contested mark average to 1.3
45.5 hitout average to 38.5
3.9 intercept average to 2.7
Everything else is so very similar it isn't worth highlighting.
Of course the best stat is Grundy being 2 years younger.

Let's all calm down a bit....
There is no way Grundy misses out.
If by some kind of fluke he does however THEN we can burn the place to the ground!
