Would we have wanted that?

Sadly I can’t see us backing this up next week.

GWS were awesome today and played witches hats.

It’s straight sets for us.

Wasted year.

Gutted. Blew it in the third when we dominated but didn't put it on the scoreboard.

Only Sidey stood up in the last. Thrashed out of the centre.

The Varcoe slip in the last cost us. Was the chance to go up over a goal.

oh..and can someone from under 14's go and teach Mason Cox how to not run under the ball when he leads for it?
Hes 7foot tall and still lets the ball go over his head? something isnt right here.

Play like this next week and gws will fold. Hey don’t like pressure. It was west coasts night, the ball fell for them, umps gave them dodgy free kicks... some of those decisions... it’s beyond me

The ball really fell to them most of the last half.

Tried hard but not competitive when it mattered in the last quarter. They were better than I expected them to be but you can’t really expect anything more from them at this stage. They are a middle of the road team.

I can’t see that Mayne can be selected next week, regardless of who is available for selection. He froze and couldn’t cope with the pressure. It was embarrassing to watch him almost every time he went near the ball.

I agree about Mayne. He fumbled the ball every time he got it.It definitely cost us goals.

Livid that we lost that. Well, the umpires were swayed by the home crowd in the last quarter. Very disappointing too cause it was a cracking game of footy. I think this game has revealed a few things.
1. West Coast are legitimate pretenders who got lucky. I hope we play them again in the GF cause I think it could get quite ugly.
2. Pies not fussed by finals pressure
3. We could just be the team to burst Richmond’s bubble.

All in all, proud of the boys efforts. Bring on GWS!!

I don't know about your second point. I thought we were uncharacteristically fumbly tonight. I think the pressure might have got to them a little bit.

Ironically, Sier and Aish, two of our kids, were two of the players who coped with the pressure beautifully, and guys like Sidey and even Pendles were uncharacteristically unsure of themselves more than a few times.

Adams is our true leader. when he got concussed in the last, that is when it changed. By the way, Yeo clearly had time to exercise his duty of care on that one. Adams was over the ball and Yeo put his knee right into him. Why isnt that reportable?????

The 2 Biggest reason we Lost are

So, when were we supposed to play them?

In a Prelim or Semi with the exact same lack of match touch?

As I feared our inability to turn our forward half opportunities and retention into goals during the 2nd and 3rd quarters cost us in the end thanks in large parts to critical fumbles and slips.

Even still Cox holds that mark and Varcoe holds his feet and kicks a goal in that last quarter and we still probably win.

The game was ours for the taking and we fluffed it.

Gutted.

I'm speechless. I can't believe our horrible luck with that bald umpire. He paid every dubious free against us all night!!!!!!!!!

I WARNED everybody in the pre-match about this lowlife shit kunt dog Nicholls who just gags at every contest to pay one against us and ignores anything our way. The other two dickheads were borderline cheats too. When you see McGuire going off his head at them, you know cheating.

Big shout out to all our inept fumbling slipping over f&ck up merchant forwards, who pissed the good work of the backline against the wall until they broke, and cost us victory.

So shattered for Jo and all our fans who made the trip over to witness that vanishing act.

But we got what we deserved after losing to Sydney, missed 2nd spot and MCG home Q final, season trainwrecked in one fell swoop. Drop dead Franklin you front running weak prick bastard.

Now we get a rampant GWS at MCG and we are f&cking spent.
Straight sets, here we come.

Both teams were fumbling the ball all night so, let’s cut our boys some slack.

Nothing wrong with AT's game.
Our defence is midget-like enough without leaving out Howe.
