Post subject: DeGoey and the Tales of Midfield MassacresReply with quote

It was a Monday Mid-Afternoon, The Demons midfield was earning a reputation as the AFLs best contested unit. They were breaking teams down physically and playing without wingmen, allowing bigger bodies in the trenches. However, it was around 3:20 when they came across a man on a Warpath. He was relentless, brutal, fast and sharp, yet classy. He seemed to be everywhere, he drove Fear into the minds of Demons while Carrying the Pies forward over and over. He was a Monster, yet he was Hero. By halftime he had amounted over 21 disposals and was on path to breaking the all time clearance record. By the time the 4th quater neared, the Machine dropped a few gears, as the Damage was done. It was a heavyweight performance. A Midfield Massacre. He was a Demonslayer.

Round 22, midway threw the 3rd quater. The Power would not go away and seemed a dangerous threat toward our top4 hopes. Until Buckley broke the glass, and unleashed the Midfield Monster. By halfway threw the 4th quater the Slaughter was over and he moved back into the forward line, back into his dungeon. He initiated a 7 goal Steam-Rolling. The Power were helpless, futile. DeGoey was a Warrior in full-flight,

The Tales a rare, yet devistating. Signs of a Warrior of Old. Funnily enough on my Journeys to the G both those days, I couldnt help but notice the Leigh Matthew's statue.

The inscription Read:

'Combining a rare blend of skill, strength and aggression'

This is the mold of player Jordan DeGoey has become
I believe we should unleash the beast from the first bounce against the Eagles.

You've gotta have an ace up your sleeve. What haven't the Eagles seen - Cox and De Goey. Our best change is to win the middle and keep the ball forward - De Goey would help there BUT Pendles, Adams, Sidey etc are no slouches either. Cox is an obvious weapon they would be well primed for, but they'll be prepared for De Goey too so I think putting him in the middle straight off shows our hand too early. Keep him for the third and fourth quarters, ala the Port game, to finish them off.

It will be important to get the advantage early in Perth, silence the crowd by the Sword of Degoey.

Great, engaging writing 35. Love it. Bucks has kept him chained for a reason.

But yeah, lets see what the Weagles have got for a quarter, then let Drogon fly and give em a bit of dracarys!

If Treloar is fit, he will be the cream on the cake. Give him 65% game time and play him in bursts. Grundy, Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Sier, De Goey, Adams, Treloar, Greenwood. Scary and makes guys like Mayne, Aish and Phillips more free. Might not hurt running Varcoe through there a couple of times either, to help take his mind of things.

Nice work 35.

Fwiw, I reckon we now have 2 midfield beasts, in De Goey and Sier, to complement the contested clearance work of Grundy. This is an area we should dominate. I think only De Goey's shin problem has limited his time in the midfield, but in bursts he is an absolute match winner.

I think we may unleash stephenson up to the wing. We’ve cotton wooled him all season in a forward pocket to get him through the year. Time to free the man up to run run run between the arcs.

With all our attention on finals and the smash em up guys of the ilk of Jordan and Brayden will be a big and almost unstoppable force

But the future with these guys thrills me no end

Start him up forward and release him into the middle as required. Use him interchangeably with Treloar in the midfield.
Adams and Sier are playing good football and can be given first dibs as our inside midfielders.

Oh, and nice turn of phrase no35

Well, he started Mid.

Unfortuantley, it was not another Tale of Midfield Massacres.
