I feel like I almost died and then came back to life. My old heart can’t take too much of games like that. It was a scrappy game today but I am so proud of the team for the season they have goven us this year. Despite a year beset with injury setbacks they have prevailed to finish in the top 4 with a double chance. No matter what happens from here they have done us all proud. We have cheered on our usual champions, watched the career of the best ruck in the AFL unfold, unearthed some amazing new talent including the 2018 rising star, at least in my eyes. We have much to be happy about. Go you mighty magpies.

If someone had said at the end of round 2 that we finish top 4 and showed me the team we would field in round 23 I would have laughed.
So the result today really was remarkable.

Oh my God that was the most hideous three hours I've spent since I don't know when...…..well maybe the Liberal party spill yesterday, and that was bad enough!

A couple of observations.Cox's kicking is shithouse,he can't kick over a jam tin.He cost us the game against Sydney, and nearly cost us again today by missing simple shots at goal. And we need some reinforcements for the backline in the finals. The backline we had today will get slaughtered in the finals.Langdon just isn't big enough or strong enough to hold down fullback. We need Howe to come in,obviously, but also Goldsack or Moore to play full back. We're just too small down back.

gritty win
found a way to get over the line despite playing below their best
very pleased with that effort
double chance on the line and they hit the front then held on
a couple of weeks off then add Howe and Treloar and throw caution to the wind against whoever stands in our way
how good is it to be back in the big time?
go woods

Frustrating game to watch, but good to see the boys show some resilience and overcome a dogged Fremantle team who came out to prove something after an abysmal performance last week.

Mihocek was huge in the final quarter. Two great goals and his work around the contest was brilliant. He gave us that extra lift that we desperately needed.

It's amazing to finish top 4. Apart from our hardcore optimists, I doubt anyone else thought top 4 was a possibility at the start of the year but here we are. I'm proud of the way the boys have continued to overcome adversity with injuries and just kept plodding along.

Bucks didn't look happy at the end of the game. He knows we'll need to improve drastically if we're going to be a significant part of September.

Looking forward to the finals now.

Hawks need to win by probably 15 to 25 points, depending on the score, to maintain a percentage above ours

We won ugly and should finish top 4.

At the start of the season I would've been rapt with 7th let alone top 4.

This season is already a success, now for a week of reflection and rehab and lets see how we can go in finals

A top 4 spot is secured. We can't miss now.

Relief. Great effort from the 2 Brodie's and the usual midfield suspects.

Think our inexperienced backline is getting found out a bit.

Yep... on all points

But having said that... good sides find a way to win even when they don't play well

Howe cannot return fast enough

Interesting that the two last premiership teams have finished with a 15-7 H&A record.

Western Bulldogs (2016) = 15-7 (7th) - 115.4%
Richmond (2017) = 15-7 (3rd) - 118.3%

Collingwood (2018) = 15-7 (2nd-4th) - 120.4%
