There was nothing particularly noteworthy about him there. Other players on that have been really cringe-inducing. Simkin was particularly bad. Not a great ad for the players overall. |

This is true; my auntie's next door neighbour's brother's cousin's husband was there, and said it pretty much unfolded just like you said... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Ballsy call if it was. As a second or third-string employee, telling your employer you won’t be there for a major presentation at a critical moment because an aunt had died .... well, I know there may be special circumstances which made him especially close to her, but prima facie, it might put him a notch down the selection order against those who seem more “whatever it takes....” _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

He comes from the country where families are very close. If it was a close family member that would justify you not playing because you may not be able to mentally focus 100% on your game. |

This is complete nonsense. Any workplace that cares for its staff would give a no-conditions leave of absence for a situation like this. Nitpicking about how closely related the family member was is highly insensitive. If one thing is abundantly clear about Buckley it's that he has a deep care for his players on a personal level, and there's no way he would hold something like this against a player. |
