Yes. Tom Langdon is an absolute gun. There is no question. To single out his errors is just completely mean spirited, given the heroic, and effective, efforts he makes to prevent opposition goals. His marking as well has become superb. He is an elite defender. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

This actually applies to our backline across the board ..... They are really up against it size wise and have been all year.
It's a testament to thier willingness in the contest (ie Maynard is hard as a cats head everytime) and it's a testament to the game plan IMO......it functions well regardless of personal. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds
They used to be a happy team at hawthorn.

And must also mention Levi Greenwood. Thought he played his role brilliantly tonight. Greenwood is a fantastic tagger, and Bucks should use him more often in this role. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Lol... if this comment is true, it is only a recent phenomenon, because Tom Langdon from what I recall has copped alot of flak here. If finally he is "like Bambi" ( I am assuming that this means something equivalent to the "golden chld") it is because the recognition he deserves is now being confirmed. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

This is a really good question doris. Port got their whack tonight as did GWS once again, so even though we've been so savagely hit by injuries, so have other teams..... except Richmond. Perhaps it's because they don't have to exert themselves to the very limit every game, like those teams trying to chase them down have to? Sure would like to know their secret though. |

I do agree, Richmond's good fortune appears to be a statistical outlier. Outliers always should be investigated. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

This is not the right place to post it (since pre-game versus PA is not yet up) but I just watched Ken Hinkley's press conference after PA's lost to WCE. He looked totally devastated...and sounded it. Confirmed that Dixon is out for the season. During the course of the press conference, he had several facial expressions which expressed his demoralization. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

Good to get the win, was never in doubt as no way we were going to lose to that rubbish side no matter how badly we started. I am sure the matchday thread is worth a read!
Would have been nice to kick straight and get a nice % boost though |

Great result and solid performance after a slow start to the game. The Lions were killing us in the first quarter, so I think the margin flattered us at quarter time. Though we started to find our groove from the midway point of the second quarter and dominated the Lions for the most part after half time.
Some have underestimated the Lions, but they're no pushovers so I think the boys deserve credit for overcoming them and nullifying them in the second half.
Great game from Sier. I've underestimated his potential thus far, but I can see why Hine was a fan all those years ago. Just as you think Stephenson is starting to burn out, he pops up and showcases why he's a serious Rising Star contender. Grundy was a beast in the third quarter and Adams is going from strength to strength. He's definitely the next captain for mine.
I was one of many supporters who criticised Mayne in the past, but I think he deserves all the credit he's receiving for coming back and re-inventing himself in this team. Seeing him hit the scoreboard and have his teammates get around him was fantastic. He's by no means a superstar and never will be, but considering the injuries we've endured this year, he's been a limelight as a role player who's been a positive contributor to the team on a weekly basis.
The prospect of returning to September is almost a reality now. If we can manage a win in our last two games, it's pretty much a certainty. With Port decimated with injuries yesterday and Fremantle to come in the final round, I suspect we'll be favourites with the punters for both games. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
