Have heard the same rumours from different people. It would be like having a younger Cloke and Clement once again. Anyone know if there is any truth to it ? _________________ Gavin Brown.. If we got both, yes we would be flag favourites. But don't think we will even get one of them! _________________ Cheers big ears |

It would be a bigger get than Hawthorn getting Mitchell and O'meara in the same draft. |

Perhaps Moore has played his last game for Collingwood, against Sydney
Could it be symbolic ? _________________ Gavin Brown.. Collingwood lifting..Right on the boundary line, back to Milane likewise... DAICOS nearly runs out of room........ GOAL |

For all those so eager to get Lynch then set our sights on May take a step back and think about it
If we land Lynch we will lose Moore for sure as well as at least one of Elliott or WHE and likley another contracted player to cover his salary requirements
He won't be coming to us under $1.1m so that's 3 players on decent money
May won't cost as much but he will be up around the $800k mark again that's going to cost us a couple players
So we have to give up 5 players to land 2
There's been a long standing rumour we don't have the cap space without shedding players to fit Lynch in and that sounds about right if you look at what we have already on our books.
I had heard a few weeks ago Ned Guy had let it be known to another list manager that we may consider giving up 1 or 2 contracted players including perhaps an established star if the deal was right. It's rumoured they would need to take all of the players salary (us paying none) and perhaps a draft pick back (2nd round pick) to assist us with our academy and father son picks we seem certain to go after
I'm not a fan of giving up players who are established in our best 22 unless there's a guarantee win for us in it
Whilst Lynch and May are good players are they worth the money and sacrifices w would likely have to make to land one or both of them |

There is ZERO chance we will give up WHE!!!
Gold Coast are bent over a barrel. Take what’s given or he goes to the draft and comes for free. Other clubs won’t touch him in the draft if he nominates us.
Well give them our first rounder next year, and maybe two of Maynard, Wills, Crocker.
Fasolo will go to Perth for a second round pick, well flick that to GC with our own second rounder and maybe Josh Smith for May.
Done deals. _________________ Beware the swooping Magpie. |

Getting both would be a serious problem, getting one not so much.
We still have several player uncontracted.
Most of our current contracts expire end on 2020
We can back end a contract for Lynch (or May), paying a modest salary for 2019, increasing in 2020 when Wells departs then maxing in the following years and fit other contracts around it.
I thought you used to do this for a living? $5m over $5 years doesn't equal $1m each year. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Mate you missed the point
I never said we would send those players to the Suns I said we couldn't afford to pay them all
There's only so much money in the cap and we are already tight looking at what we have and what we paid them
It's either don't sign uncontracted players or trade out contracted players to free up the space there the only 2 options |

There’s ALWAYS ways. Front load, back load, pay cuts for current players to be paid down the track. If we want Lynch and/or May, we will make it happen. _________________ Est. 2002 |
