Reports coming out of the club are that Darcy's hamstring complaints could be back related due to -- get this -- growing pains. Can you believe that? Darcy is still growing.

If that bizarre physiological anomaly is true then that means his hamstring issue should resolve over time.

That is really interesting. I hope this has a happy ending. I will say that his hamstring injuries aren't like everyone else's. He can still run off the ground at a pretty good speed (see how quickly he got off the ground vs Sydney), which I have found very weird and cant explain.

Craig Kelly ran off the ground in 1992 against the Eagles (famous Troy Lehmann winning point game) with a sore knee. Saw him again 12 months later!

I was watching Darcy in the pre-game warm-up at the Paddington end - I was sitting in the noble stand level 2 and he was in the goal square kicking balls out past the 50 and when I say kicking he was absolutely using every muscle to boot the ball as far as possible. That was a massive RED flag in my mind, he should be easing back into it, what was the point of booting the ball to buggery in the warm up with his dodgy hammies as they are??

Just dumb decision making.

Speaking of dumb decision making - Langdon, Greenwood and Sidebottom were all guilty of making game defining decisions that caused the loss. Sidey could have run into goal or used Mayne to handball over the top. Greenwood came back into traffic out of the back 50, gave the ball away and lead to a swans goal, ditto Langdon as he doesn't take the first option, tried to baulk away and then kicked out of bounds on the full when there was an open player unmarked on the wing.

Finally having a one gamer one out on Franklin, well that was genius coaching and playing wasn't it?

Anyway Darcy that was really dumb

^I am trying to remember if Maynard's rushed behind that was ruled to be under not enough pressure and resulted in a ball up in front of goal resulted in a goal to the Swans. I'm pretty sure it did.

that was franklins second goal. his first was off a perfect lead that was perfectly defended by moore. followed by a 55 meter kick for goal.

Franklin’s 3rd goal was Darcy’s fault IMO he had the clearing kick from D50 that got smothered Franklin was next to him and as soon as the ball was smothered he starts running back towards the goal, Darcy stays at the contest and Swans win ball by this stage Buddy is 20m ahead and on his own he ends up with the ball and snaps the goal.

I'm pretty disgusted with some of the disparaging and critical comments directed at Darcy by a small number of internet heroes.

Of course we (me included) are frustrated at his inability to remain uninjured. However, I'm sure no-one is more frustrated than Darcy himself. The fact is, he is a young player desperate to play the game he loves and is doing everything in his power to perform at his best for our club. For that, he should expect the support of ALL Collingwood supporters.

I hope he can return asap and that he goes on to have a 10 year career with us.

Well said, Rudey.

Back on Moore's hammies, if it's due to growing pains then that's probably good news. Hopefully it will resolve itself.
