Nope, and when you look at it, smart work from the recruiting team.

We've traded for now (Beams and Roughead) and drafted for the future (the rest)

The Irish boys will take time, as will Kelly. The Bos and IQ will be in contention early as they both have solid bodies.

We have Brown and Daicos doing there time, developing , and Sier as young midfielders, so we done good.

Yeah I'm very pleased, we've recruited both for some gaps in our list and an eye on our future. Throw in the free gamble on the Irish lads (who both seem to have huge potential up sides) and we've done very well for ourselves.

Future is looking bright.

Ok so we weren't going to use this fourth rounder ( but we got Bosa in still )so we traded for next years fourth rounder. However Hawthorn still got a bargain and I reckon they owe us a favour.
Irritates me that we helped a rival that are right with us competing neck and neck.

Our 4th rounder was worthless to us by that stage in the draft as we could get the only player we were still after for pick 77.

The trade lets us save it for next year and Hawthorn gets a crack at someone speculative this year. Win-win.

Given our weakened draft hand next year it would seem to make sense not to promote any rookies this year and keep the option open of using the elevations next year as part of our minimum 3 draft picks.

Time will tell.

This also confirms one of the Irish lads will be a Cat A so our only vacancy is a Cat B spot.
