3rd isn't too bad, better to play the Eagles first up in Perth with a double chance and thus avoid them in a Prelim over there even if we lose.

I'd take that in a heart beat.

I think we'll finish 3rd, but the Eagles will finish on top, meaning we'd play the Tigers first up and then probably the Eagles in the prelim. Sad

Moore, Cox and Sidebottom all went for scans.

Hopefully nothing too serious.

I reckon to win the War, we must finish top 2.
This has to be the goal now.

i just dont get that at all. If we finish 4th and play Richmond at the G, how is that any different to finishing first (and Richmond 4th) and playing Richmond at the G? Top 4 have an equal path to glory. If you are a worthy premier, you gotta be able to play anywhere.
....

Why would finishing first mean that Richmond suddenly finish fourth?? Why not, e.g. Pies 1, WC 2, Richmond 3...? That would be great: we play at the G while Richmond are smashed in the west.

And stop thinking about "worthy premiers". If being worthy mattered, the league would have had to declare no premier the last two years. All that matters is winning, whether you are worthy or not.

Also, Richmond definitely are not able to play anywhere. A winning percentage differential of 100% Shocked between Vic. and interstate games...

This game is unlikely to affect our finishing third. It will likely affect whether Richmond or WCE finish 1st.

(Most likely would take losing to 2 of Richmond, Sydney and Port to drop out of top 4 ... possible, but I’ll back us in to win 2 or those plus the Bears and Dockers.)

I don't think E is saying that Richmond would be 4th if we are 1st. It means that if Richmond & Collingwood were to play in the QF then it wouldn't matter which team was going in as no#1 and which is no#4, because there is no advantage to either given there is no home final advantage for either team.
Either way I think 3rd is likely for us...

^ Well, that's what he said! Is not Pies 1, WC 2, Richmond 3 at least a semi-realistic hope?

Unlikely hope I would suggest with the head start WCE and Richmond have in points and percentage and their respective runs home.
