For one thing, how many of the young key forwards drafted in recent years have come on and shown anything, apart from Hogan?
Curnow at Carlton, but he's an oversized midfielder who is suited to the way the game is played now.
If the AFL changes the rules and puts zones in place where you have to have people inside the forward 50 at stoppages, then maybe the traditional tall forward will make a comeback |
I’m only hypothesising here but when these new rule changes come in, DeGoey strikes me as a prototype of the perfect “ new style “ forward.
I know it’s robbing Peter to pay Paul but I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays as our second ( of only two ) tall forwards under the new rule changes.
That would also mean we could target an extra mid onto our list which is always easier than trying to source a ready made tall.
( and I do like Tommy Langdons brother as a midfield talent 😉 ) |

De Goey will be able to do that, I reckon Carlton has the prototype in Curnow. 194cm midfielder who can play genuine key position.
We should put in a bid on Blakey who's tied to the Swans. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Look down the page a little at the NGA thread http://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=83607&start=15
Early this season he was in the Vic Metro squad and was listed at 191cm. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Do you go hard at the end of this season at the cost of a significant trade scenario
Or do you wait till the end of 2019 and roll the dice on free agency when he costs us “ nothing “.
That’s a tough call for mine but the Dunn injury probably swings it more towards sooner than later.
We will also need the points to draft Will Kelly, which shouldn’t be to difficult to organise. |
It's a difficult question to answer.
If the Suns fear they're going to lose May to free agency next year, they might be inclined to trade him out now and get something decent in return rather than risk losing him for nothing. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Study up on the Paul George to the lakers furore. If you can get a player now, take him. Will there be a better year to get the best out of Pendles, Sidey, Blair and Goldsack than 2019. Seriously, we are built to win it all in 2019! I would do whatever it takes to get a pair of bookends. Moore is going to be an excellent CHB for us, but i'm not sure he can resist the lure of the ball to be truly reliable as a shut down back. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |
