Bone bruising is not "just bruising". See http://magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?p=1847846#1847846

As long as playing doesn't make it worse... but I wouldn't bet my life on our medical staff's judgements.

And Cox is a “tight” hamstring now.

Which I guess is quite bad, given that our club has previously established that a lower-grade problem is officially called "an awareness".

Could be first time in a decade to not at least make a prelim.

Only 3 times in 25 years that team hasn’t made the top 4 before finals.

Fingers crossed those odds are in our favour.

A disappointing day, but credit should go to the Eagles. They played well and the inclusions of Kennedy, Darling and LeCras benefited them greatly. They pulled off a big win away from home despite Naitanui sustaining a serious knee injury.

I was pretty confident heading into this game, but losing Cox to a late withdrawal certainly unsettled our structures. McGovern had a field day as an intercept marker, and too much of the load was apportioned onto De Goey and Thomas to get over the line. WHE didn't look fit despite playing through the whole game. Mihocek continues to impress me and I'm liking his current development.

The Eagles plan to nullify Pendles and Sidey worked successfully. Both players who were pivotal to our victory last week were much quieter this week. With the absence of Treloar, the quiet games from Pendles and Sidey was more evident.

I regard today's result as a setback, with an element of fear that our season could fall apart in the coming weeks, but I'm at the stage where I'm still optimistic that we can bounce back next week against North and consolidate our spot in the top 4.

Here's to regrouping and resetting for next week's clash.

Yeah. This is where the cream on the cake is Treloar. You can hold one of them, reduce another but three is tough.

Note though, Bucks *could* have shifted De Goey in there as he did to win the game against Melbourne, but he elected not to.

He could have shifted JT in there for more game time, not sure if he did or didn't.

He could have swung Moore in hope... but he didn't. Or Howe. But he didn't.

In fact he could have done many things, but he didn't.

He elected to let it play out. He did not act like a desperate man today.

About the only positive I'd take from today is Darcy Moore, who showed he has potential to be an AA caliber key defender. It's a shame he's been injured the whole year.

I guess another positive is that we can't really play much worse and it was only a 6 goal loss. 40 tackles is pathetic. 80 clangers might be worse. Those have nothing to do with the opposition, that's all Collingwood.

Somehow this comment reminded me of the finish to North-Sydney, where Aliir Aliir was shifted forward by Longmire in the last minute or so and the ball fell to him for the winning goal...
