Tell us your Craig Starcevich stories. Craig is our special guest at the Pineapple hotel next weekend for the pregame function, I would love to hear people thoughts on his career, and special memories.

Rnd 14 1988 against the old foe, Carlton. Nearly 73,000 managed to get to the MCG despite the Public Transport Strike that was in progress. A tough struggle for 3 qtrs until the Magpies busted the game wide open with about 7 mins left in the last qtr. Starcevich kicked 1 from a set shot and then kicked 2 in 2 minutes and sent the Collingwood army into frenzy. I still have the game on tape and the roar of the crowd with each of his 2 goals late in the qtr still sends shivers down my spine.

Absolutely Rd14 1988. The look on Jimmy Buckleys face was priceless and its in my top 5 magpie games ever. "Starc" played a blinder and we knew after a tough few years we were on the way back...1990 was just around the corner.

Top 5 games:

1990 GF
2002 vs Lions at Telstra
vs Blues at Waverley when Warren Ralph kicked a point
1990 final v West Coast....Daaaaaiccccossssss!!
2002 Preliminary Final v Crows...the roar when the Pies ran out and for Didak's goal

special mentions:

First ANZAC day and 2002.
2007 v Adelaide

I was there that day also, gold, bloody gold, a bit reminiscent of last Saturday blowing them off in the last qtr

used to call him "rubberchest" and "butterfingers" for his oft-doomed attempts in marking around the half forward line.

but when he turned it on he could really make an impact - great to watch

I got there for the 2nd half, had to work the Saturday {July 2nd?}
Watch Dennis Banks' tackle late in that game too...
And yes, that's one VHS game NEVER to be erased. Too bad we lost by 15 goals to Fitzroy the next week!

Pompie is correct - definately same game over Starca, Wright may have been lurking for Spilvagni's dropped mark, which did was paid...
