The more I hear De Goey giving the media soundbites about how he loves the Pies and wants to stay the more I expect him to leave.

We've had the entire bye period to hear that the deal has been done but things still stand as they've been all year.

The clock is no longer ticking - the alarm is now ringing, loudly. And we take this unresolved and overdue issue with us towards the finals. Not good for the Pies, Jordy. If its true that you love the Pies make the call one way or the other, now!

They did not start talks until after the bye - an arrangement agreed to by both parties early in the year. It would be world record time if the contract was finalised now.

Never in doubt.

Only a fool would leave on this cusp of Magpie domination.

Jordy might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's not that dumb.

He's agreed in principal, but still negotiating $$$$

Could still drag out for a while, but at least he has said he's staying.

Until it's signed on the dotted line, I still remain hesitant to celebrate De Goey's intention to stay with the club.

They’re going to have to start front loading their contracts if they can’t land a big fish. Their TPP will have to be filled somehow. Otherwise, they’ll be paying their B and C graders overs.

It is rare we lose players we want to keep.

Beams is about it in the last decade.

We can reopen this thread in 2 years time.

Hopefully he'll have played in a premiership by then.
