Just minor nit-pickings on an otherwise stand out day.

Their first 4 goals came from very silly mistakes. That's easily fixed.
Stephenson must be told to kick the goal when he is in a position like the 3rd qtr.
We need that tall chb, Moore where are you, to take the big forward.

Other than that, great day.

Now let's hope the media get on board and don't just say Melbourne failed because of expectation.

Good to see our Full Forward (Thomas, H-E, Stevo, Cox) starring again. Smile

Great win and our goalkicking mix is quite exciting now. First 4 quarter game I have seen from Cox too.

I thought we had a few unlucky calls resulting in Melbourne goals and stealing our momentum. Ultimately the scoreboard flattered Melbourne.

We need to be careful not to get too carried away ... for all the hype, it was only Melbourne.

I think we have a bit of work to do in defence. For some teams we are going to need a second key defender besides Dunn ... could be Reid or maybe Mihocek.

Melbourne have one of the best mids in the comp based on recent stats, and we just smashed em in the middle.

Yes (as do we). It was good to see our midfield dominate ... should happen more often.

We have given up more points against than other teams (excluding Melbourne now) in the top 8. We have a fair bit of work to do on defence still.

Agreed. I’ve posted before that we need another key defensive player, I think Moore could fill that void if and when he is fit.

Daniel Wells got about 550k so going off that, JDG should get about 8 million

I was jealous of Petracca at Melbourne. A line breaking mid who can also play full forward and kick goals.

Right now though, we look to have the better mid from that draft in JDG. His power in the midfield is what propelled us forward. Then others came into it later.

Dees sent Viney to De Goey after half time.

JDG interviewed by Mark Stevens: says he loves the club and is close to signing, they're just working out the details.

Couldn't really get more clear a statement that he's staying.

I’m rapt with that, until he signs I ain’t getting my hopes up to much. He will be the best player in the comp as I’ve said before in the next 2-3yrs IF he keeps his head down an ass up.
