Came across this when researching information on Butch Edwards.
Some great videos there.

Thanks for that. So many great memories there. They may not have won a premiership, but I loved those teams.

If the quality was better I would have been able to pick myself out behind the goals at the city end at the 80 elimination final. I would have seen myself as a year 12 student with longish blond hair which is now also nothing but a distant memory.

I have only had time for a quick glance at some of those highlights, but the thing that jumps out is how similar Darcy is to Peter.

The game looks so much more fluid, open and exciting back then. Bring it back ! And how good was Billy Picken ? One of the greatest CHBs of all time.

Good old number 25 Billy Picken.
Probably my favourite collingwood player of all time.
Before every game he threw up with nerves.
Here comes Billy was his on ground commentary before taking a hanger.

I had 25 on my duffle coat.

Watching Picken and Mark Maclure go to each other before the first bounce was a greater expectation than getting up at 6am on christmas morning when you were a kid.
And then it was onnnnnn!!!!
Unfortunately I reckon Maclure won the war but Picken won a few battles.

Yeah, and then when he’d taken a hanger, he’d poke the ball in his opponent’s face and shout the war-cry : “Billy PICKENN!” Such a character....

Got a glimpse of Graeme Anderson in the number 21 and long sleeves in one of those clips. Such a beautiful left foot kick on the run for goal. Quirky note from the time we had a Graeme L Anderson on the list at the same time.

My recollection is that Graeme Anderson was a right footer.

Are you confusing him with Leigh Carlson?
