It is always interesting looking forward 5 weeks.

Freo at MCG must be a win
Melb at MCG is 50/50 at best
Carl at MCG must be a win
Gold Coast at Carrara must be a win
Ess at MCG we should win.

If we lose to Freo, Carl or Gold Coast then I give up and we don't deserve to play finals.

Win all 5 and we are 11/4 in a really good position to play finals.
Drop one and at 10/5 we are still in a position to play finals, but with more pressure on the last 7 games.
Drop 2 and we are really on the edge at 9/6. Probably then need to win at least 4 to scrape into finals.

The Melb game is one that worries me. Win that I think we are really well placed.

WCE, North, Rich, Sydney, Brisbane, Power and Freo to finish (with Sydney and Freo interstate). 4/7 would be a very good result.

This, of course, changes after every match.

Should win 3 of these with Essendon being a 50/50.

Melbourne will be way too good. They are the form team at the moment.

Melbourne and us game will possibly determine who finishes in the top 4 with Richmond, Eagles and Sydney - all things being equal.

Would love to be considering this conundrum if we had a full list to choose from. The Sack, Elliot and Moore would be huge ins for varying reasons.

All these are must wins. There's no margin for error.

freo are an abomination at the moment going through a rebuild.

the dees are downhill skiers. the media love them and talk them up at any given opportunity. truth is they've been spoon fed for years and are only in the position they're in cos of afl handouts and clubs like ours supporting them. i hope we hand their arses to them on a platter on qb. this club disgusts me more than any other.

carlscum deserve to be in the position they're in. they might take it to us given the rivalry but we should account for them easily enough. just as long as kim jong ed doesn't turn it into a Pies milestone game like last years' disaster to give the scum the extra incentive.

gold coast are a very poor side, maybe slightly better than last year. we should win that.

we should have our way with essendope. last couple of weeks they've improved and won but they're still a very poor side.

if we're fair dinkum about making finals then we need to win these next 5 games and win well. there's simply no excuse really. no one will take us seriously as a finals contender but that's alright with me. we'll come up from behind like a librarian at finals time and BANG! Wink

Based on current form, this is what I'm thinking as well.

No, we were 7-3 after 10 rounds in 2010.

I see Freo ,Carlton and Gold Coast in the bag

Essendon 80-20

Melb 50–50

See 10 win —5 loss but and improved % courtesy of substantial wins over
Freo ,Scum and GC

If Cox can start clunking a few more marks and kicking a goal or two, and we don't suffer any more injuries to key players, then we could well find ourselves firmly in the top 4 with 11 wins 4 losses. That's no doubt an optimistic forecast, but it's certainly doable.

And you have something RudeBoy !!

Even though we have played some very good footy there is room to improve

Cox being one facet to improve —thought Adams game was more like we Tay we know

I,d back our back six in against any in the comp

I had us losing to Dee,s but bring our A game and who knows

If the Dee get the same level of support from the umpires as they did last Queen’s Birthday we will not stand a chance. Last year they certainly seemed to get caught up in the momement and the last two games that the Pies have played are not encouraging from an umpiring perspective.
