A bloke who lives here now belted crap out of some African bloke up near Ararat. The Police association got him into some program for PTSD and at 38 he is living in Thailand with a pension. Another bloke I know is here on the same deal but his case was different. Some 17 year old kid ran at him and others with sword of some sort and before he could behead some one shot him. His mother was bleating all over the media "My son had never done that before" By that she meant took drugs and tried to kill her defacto and the kids from his first family. FMD

Not making judgements but the Police Association will get behind members no matter what they did.

I don�t think a policeman perverts the course of justice by �fitting up� a couple of teenagers, one of whom he has randomly punched in the face, because he has PTSD. He does it because he�s protecting his own livelihood when he knows that he has done something appalling. The big problem for me is not the punching - that�s problematic enough, of course, but the idea that a police officer could �fit up� a teenager and possibly ruin the kid�s life just to cover the policeman�s tracks is something that should appall all of us. That�s what I thought was worth of a very much stiffer sentence.

The reason I posted this in this thread is because the possibility the police might fit someone up under this particular law is obviously real - a bloke has been convicted of trying to do the very same thing, albeit with the former offence. Scary, scary stuff.
