I reckon there's every chance that next year will see Phillips move from the wing to the midfield, given his ability to run and run and run, plus his perfect size. Cool

The wing suits him perfectly. Keep him there!

He's become my favourite player. Love the way he goes about it.

He has staggered me this year! Love the fact that he stays back and works extra sessions with Gotch on his kicking. Less floaters this year!

There's been an exponential improvement by Phillips this year. Well done him.

Absolutely. You dont get picked at 58 without having plenty to improve on.
And you dont play the quality footy he is playing without doing everything right in his preparation and professionalism to the task.

According to the coaches votes, he is ranked third for Collingwood just behind Sidey and Grundy.

Surely the quickest rising star in the comp. From nowhere to pretty much being declared our best player. His rise really is reminiscent of Swan's.

The number of times Phillips is involved in the last line of defense only to then pop up through the midfield and then again in the forward line all from the same passage has impressed me this year. The kid can go all day. He knows how to find the pill and is getting better at using it. I've got time for the lad. I believe he'll continue to improve, too.

Interesting that our two AA players are also our best endurance athletes. Is that a comment on (i) the nature of the modern game (with implications for recruiting strategy), (ii) our run and carry game plan and the importance of these blokes to it, or (iii) just happenstance, given two very talented blokes ?

Food for thought.
