Thanks Pies4shaw just got home from work and see you have taken up the commentary - much appreciated.

Sounds like bit of a scrappy game is that how it looks?

Sier needs to debut soon. Wellings not so much. Point. The miss gifts Coburg possession and they return the favour at the other end. Still Pies by 19. Almost 30 minutes gone.

Sier seals it with brilliant work in the midfield and Crocker gets the easy goal.

You’re welcome. Yes, very frustrating to watch, as On The March said earlier. Some showed potential senior talent, especially Sier, Daicos, McLarty and Murphy. Sier had 35 disposals and is starting to look way too skilled - and powerful - for this level. I suspect that he could do a lot of clearance damage, especially if he can get it into the hands of the AFL outside runners, whose skills are so far beyond some of the lads Sier is getting it out to that it is like watching a different game.

The frustration arises partly because some (but by no means all) of our VFL players don’t look to have the skill to play at this level. I enjoy watching some of them - Hore and Borthwick are examples - but some of the boys do struggle.

Thanks for this - last year I was wondering if Sier was going to make the grade but by all reports he could do well at AFL level

I think so. I’m not sold on his pace but there’s only one way to find out and he’s certainly a massive presence at stoppages.

Just home from the game and I agree with P4s' call, though I do think Sier has the pace for AFL. Still a bit green but if he can avoid the injury curse, I reckon he will be ready to go next year. Hopefully get a taste later this year.

Also liked Murphy's game, and think McClarty is a ripper.

Sier very impressive, I also liked McClarty, Murphy and Daicos' games. Wills is a beast but I think he holds on to the ball too long. Like the look of Madgen before he got hurt and what's the status on Marty Hore? Impresses me every time I see him, strong hands and a beautiful kick.

I thought Murphy showed great character to play as he did after it looked like he’d been hospitalised early on. It can’t haveeen easy to keep standing up in those marking contests after the thumping he took.

Hore is still looking for a chance at an AFL list. I think he’ll get his chance this year. If Frost can be rookied, he certainly can.
