Post subject: Twilight matches....horrible! | |
|
I have something against Sunday or Public holiday twilight matches.
They don't feel right.
They wear you down waiting, waiting for the match to begin.
The weekend is almost over and the thrill of it all drains away!
And then and only then does the game comes on.
By twilight Sunday the alcohol is put away and I am trying to get my head around the upcoming work week.
It is not fair I say!
Counting the Brisbane game we have 5 twilight games in 7 weeks!
Stone the bloody crows what a bummer! |

I dont mind them.
If you attend the game, then yeah, I guess it isnt as enjoyable as other timeslots.
As far as watching on TV, I think its ok. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

True, you always get that empty feeling after the game no matter what. Yesterdays game was different at least for us in QLD, as today was a public holiday - enjoyed the game and had today to recover. _________________ Pies Forever |

I despise them.
I can't go to the game as Sunday arvo the family come over for dinner, and I don't get to relax and watch all the game as the family are here by half time.
Fkn shit timeslot, I hate it. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

It's an absolute shit time for watching too, if you live on the land like me. Dusk is one of the busiest times of the day for people who have lots of animals to feed. They all end up getting fed mid-afternoon when a twilight game is on |

I'm in total agreement with the thread title. We humans have a social life. Our lives don't revolve around scheduled AFL/ VFL games. Friday night games I can cope with, but we generally go out Saturday nights, so if Collingwood is playing on a Saturday night and it clashes with an event I'm going to, all I can do is record the game and follow the live score on the mobile phone. If it's a Saturday night twilight game I have to rush home from the MCG or Etihad stadium at 7:30 at night if we're going out. Last Sunday we were out driving in the afternoon and got home after 5:00pm, so I had to watch the game from the record start of the game which meant I didn't get the result until an hour after everybody else. Didn't get dinner till after eight. |

As young folks we went absolutely everywhere to see Pies rain hail or shine
Recall the long train ride to Geelong in season 1953 and the Cats coming off
26 straight wins
Well we fixed that —we knocked them off but what a train ride home
Virtually all way home in carriage full of Maggie fans we sang Good Old Collingwood Forever till our throats were sore and faces too with the grinning
65 years on and I still have that memory
Oh and September that year a flag _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |
