I wonder whether Blair, Brown and Daicos are ALL too small for the modern game, especially as neither of them are blessed with real speed. At a pinch, I guess there maybe room for one dwarf in our side, but certainly not two. |

i don't think there was much discussion re Blair at all, until E started going overboard about career best form, presumably to start another discussion.
In the last two weeks we have lost to Richmond by 7 goals, and could barely beat the bottom side, so this 'career best form' isn't really helping at the score board.
In a year where most other small forwards have been kicking bags of five goals, Jarryd's lack of X factor looks as limited as ever to me. sorry. |

I'd really love Sier to get a game, but I suspect Blair did enough to retain his spot. |
I would also replace one of Crocker/Blair with Fas. |
one could argue that Crocker and Faz are competing for the same spot, but Blair is in career form, is finally being used properly so that his true talent can shine through (it appears De Goey, WHE AND STEPHENSON ARE NOW PLAYING THE ROLE THAT BLAIR WAS PREVIOUSLY BEING ASKED TO PLAY AND THEY ARE INFIINITELY MORE CAPABLE FO DOIGN THAT).
People forget that Blair is a premiership caliber player. |
4 things Eric:
1. Stop shouting
2. Blair in “career best form” ?
3. Blair and talent in the same sentence &
4. Premiership calibre ...... (was 8 years ago)
All Blair has done in the pat 2 weeks is avoid several ” Blairisms”. Oh yeah and hasn’t kicked a goal either! |
Hi Incapacitated. in response i apologize for the all caps. accidental
As for your Blair noise, my response is Blah diddy Blah Blah!!! By any measure, Blair has been terrific these past couple of weeks. He is a Collingwood premiership player and its a disgrace how people on this site now need to justify the vitriol they spewed the past couple of years by diminishing his accomplishments this season after we all thought he was finished as a viable player.
He may ultimately fail to make our best 22, but i for one am super happy for the way the guy has come back better than ever!!
If our entire team worked as hard and played as courageously and selflessly as Blair obviously does, we would win the premiership in a canter!
And just because you were critical of him last year (i was too), it doesn't make you wrong if you acknowledge his strong performances the last two weeks. |
E, would I be correct in assuming that you are vertically challenged? |

You might want to check the numbers on Duncan, Tim Kelly ( mature age draftee ) and Menangola before you write their midfield off without Danger.
The Cats biggest challenge will be the MCG, not our midfield.
And surely Grundy will have a day out against whoever they play in the ruck. |
Doesn't that depend upon Grundy's fitness level? He hasn't had a good couple of weeks, due to what we understand is a shin injury, but could be something else.
Nankervis was a large reason for Richmond's second half ascendancy and Martin had the better of him last week. |

I agree he has had his colours lowered by his lofty standards in the last couple games but both both Stanley and Smith on current form, are no threat.
Both have been dropped a couple times in an effort to find an alternative ruckman who can compete. The MCG and the ruck are their kryptonite.
I would be really shocked if Grundy didn’t have the better of either ruckman on the day. |

A few notes from Pies training:
- Darcy Moore played up forward in match sim
- Adam Treloar looked in superb touch in the midfield
- Callum Brown was with the AFL squad, while Fasolo was with VFL team. Brown a big chance to return after being managed last week. _________________ All We Can Be |

Surely that means one of Brown, Blair and Adams won't be playing - I don't like that line up with those three in the same 22. |

Thomas: 176cm
Elliott: 177cm
Daicos: 178cm
Brown: 178cm
Adams: 180cm
Sidebottom: 180cm
Fasolo: 181cm
Not sure why you'd say that. What about Adams, Fas, Thomas, Elliott? Height is not a requirement nor is speed. Running power is though.
The selections look spot on to me. Very sensible. We played one defensive medium too many last week, with Wells available that has been addressed with the poorer performing medium being dropped.
Brown has played better than both Blair and Adams this year, so has to play ahead of Blair when available. An upgrade in the same position. Adams hopefully improves on his awful return game. _________________ Well done boys! |

He likes playing against the pussies (averages 23 disposals) and I'm betting he'll have a cracker this weekend. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |
