That's ok - you've got about another 250 games to get used to Tommy L.

I used to agree with you, but with Scharenberg, Howe, Crisp, Maynard and Murray all clearly ahead of Tommy L these days, i'm not sure he is a lock to play 250.

Likely he'll find a way (just like Maxy did before him), but he is going to have to reinvent himself a little.

Prone to a clanger because he doesn't have a right foot. Very one sided. And likely to be found out when oppositions start paying him more attention.

In fairness, P4S didn’t say in what league those next 250 games would be 😉

I also said “another” 250 - so that will take him to about 315 or so.

yeah....24 years old and 62 games......

I have only seen him live 3 times but each time goes to ground too easy

this year averages

14th in tackles (4th amongst defenders)
8th in uncontested disposals 8th in rebound 50's (last amongst defenders)
5th in clangers (3rd amongst defenders)
81% in disposal efficiency (because uncontested disposals)
6th in one percenters (5th amongst defenders)
21st for inside 50's
last for goal assists (1 in 5 games)

not really champion stats!!!

not even in our best back 6

Reckon he is a “poor man’s” Andrew Gaff. A very poor man’s version! But signs are encouraging

I'm surprised. Given the propensity of Nicksters to shit on current players (The game day threads are BRUTAL),I'm happily surprised to see Tom appreciated. I've been a big fan since his first game and said several times here that I see leadership written all over the kid. He's handy around goals but always works for the team, and takes responsibility when things aren't getting done. He's still a kid of course, but after just 31 games he's become a favourite with both fans & teammates, and is really taking the next step this season. After just 7 games this year he's already picked up more than half the disposals & goals he managed last year in 18 games. Amazingly he's averaging a mighty 27 touches in 2018, after just 31 games. His potential upside is huge, and best of all he LOVES Collingwood. It would be very difficult to get him out of the Holden Ctr.
The way he's going I see a future captain in Tom Phillips. I hope he stays on Buckleys good side.

I thought he looked like a Nerd and that he cant lay a tackle.

And that still may be the case

But this year he has suprised me. More than anyone else. The left foot is potent. And he keeps poppin up everywhere.

Im really impressed.

And that half-volley to DeGoey was speeeeecial.

Um, I will admit I haven't been to a live game this year living in syd - but I thought Tom was a winger ??
His bio says "young winger" and he is named every week on the wing.
he covers more Ks every week than every other collingwood player and has more sprints and kms running at full speed.

Hes no 3 at collingwood for av disposals
has 2nd most marks
5th in stoppage clearances
5th in time on ground and no1 as a mid
2nd in meters gained.

his heat map has him all over the place so if he is a back hes bloddy unaccountable !!! Laughing

Maybe, but there are plenty of lefties out there with no right who have made a go of it, certain Hawks players spring to mind

I think somewhere along the line we got our Toms mixed up...either that or I am very confused indeed

You have posted the “ right “ stats in relation to the O P ( Tom Phillips )

The stats from mgh3536 are related to Tom Langdon.

The only thing they both have in common is that they both polarise supporters ( one more than the other, it would seem )
