So after 6 weeks, i think i have a pretty good handle on where teams are bunched up. Here are my thoughts. Basically means we are in the hunt for a finals spot. if we grab Lynch end of year, flag is ours in 2019!

Top 4

Richmond in front by a fair bit.
GWS
Port
Sydney

Next 5

Melbourne
Adelaide
Haw
Geelong
Collingwood

Next 6

WCE
St.Kilda
Freo
Essendon
Western Bulldogs
North.

Bottom 3

Gold Coast
Brissy
Carlton.

Under valued West Coast

^Judd claims that's due to TWI. (It could be.)

And Eade now thinks we can make top 4.

We'll win at least 8 of our next 10... at least!

That's when we'll see where we stand Cool

If we do make the finals, I think our “ ranking “ would elevate even further assuming we played a final or two on the G.

Cats and Giants are the fools gold of the competition on the G against good opposition and that will go against them.

Our challenge will be to make finals in the first place.
Winning it is the easy part 😂😂

Forget about Lynch and 2019.

Seriously folks, approaching September if we are in the 8 and have Moore, Elliott, Wells, Fasolo, Varcoe and Adams all up and firing, we can beat any team. Seriously, we would shit on Richmond.

We can win the Flag this year. Cool

I’d go something like:

1. Richmond
2. GWS
3. West Coast
4. Sydney
5. Adelaide
6. Hawthorn
7. Geelong
8. Port Adelaide

9. Collingwood
10. Melbourne
11. Fremantle
12. North Melbourne
13. Essendon
14. Western Bulldogs
15. St Kilda
16. Gold Coast
17. Carlton
18. Brisbane

We’re definitely in the mix – not much between, say, 3rd and 12th right now.

^ Not much between 1 and 12. Though Eade thinks Richmond have stayed still and every other team has gone downhill, which if true is a worry.

According to champion data the teams in order (calculated by best 22 available combined ranking points)

Top 8
Richmond
GWS
Sydney
Geelong
West Coast
Adelaide
Port Adelaide
Hawthorne

Collingwood was ranked 11th which sounds bad but you have to remember champion data to a evolving system of 40-50 games. We don't get any credit points for Moore Wells Elliott Adams all of who are top 100 ranked players.
We also have players like Brown Scharenberg Stephenson Murray who haven't earned enough ranking points yet to really matter as they haven't played enough games.
Separately if we use this years points gained only we are currently ranked the 5th best performed team which is likely closer to were we should be
I'm wanting too see were we actually sit at the bye because history tell us that there isn't generally more than 1 or 2 teams who drop out at that point of time

^ According to them when exactly? Right now, or before Round 1?

I actually dont disagree with his assessment, although i think WC and Collingwood appear to have improved a great deal to basically catch the pack.

I also think hawthorn is a slightly better team this year than last (mainly because their players are out there again). Freo as well.

I do believe that St. Kilda, Essendon, Adelaide and Geelong have gone backwards, in some cases, significantly.

I cant tell re GWS, Sydney and Port.

I certainly agree with Eade's comments about the low standard of the competition overall. But I'd hope that Richmond are also going from bad to worse (they perhaps need some injuries at least on the scale of the Sydney teams).

It seems very clear to me that Richmond have poor skills. It's not true that how they play is making them kick badly. Many times on Sunday they were running in the clear and simply butchered the ball. Rather, they use a game style that suits their poor skills, which is really the common-sense thing to do. (Eade favours that, too.)

That was as the completion of round 6 but it is a evolving carry over of the 40-50 game cycle they use
They assess the players available for selection (not listed as injured by clubs I'm assuming) and they combine there total ranking points.
That scenario would hurt us as I've stated having no Wells Moore Elliott Adams hurts our ranking because there replaced by the Stephenson Murray Scharenberg Crocker all of whom haven't played that 40-50 games to give them a overall ranking assessment
The second part is ranking points in the first 6 rounds of 2018
It on,y includes the points accumulated in 2018

I see 3 sides; west coast, hawthorn & norf, that won't be in the 8 in a few months.

If we happen to miss the top four, it'll only be just.

The ladder after 6 weeks, is, just that Cool

Look at these sides next 10 weeks.

West coast will win 2, maybe 3.
North will win 4 maybe 5
Hawks will win 5

They're out!

Who wants it!
