Was pretty good last night but his disposal was often poor. He kicked two goals but gave up one or two from turnovers, if I recall correctly. His dash to get clear in the forward line with a minute to to go was a joy to behold, undoubtedly.

De Goey was our best recruit of the past 10 years!

Taking nothing away from all the posters choice.s it’s so good to have a young
recruit who walked straight in at Round 1 and looks like he belongs

And to see some one so young with footy smarts as a Pie supporter of 65 years it’s wonderful

Last time I saw a player who I consider had footy smarts and could kick “that”
goal that lifts all team mates—I’m calling it John Greening (well IMO anyways)

Very Happy as you watch him play I'm liking this kid more and more , hardly stops running and chasing reads the play well... best of all you find out he supported the lions when he grew up! And without respect, yesterday gave them supporters the bird after kicking the sealer....... Razz

Very pleased for Jayden and his family. At 188cm, and a level-headed and natural footballer, he may well fulfill the potential shown by another club great in Phil Carmen!!!.

Hmm... Carmen, Greening, ...

Saw Greening kick 7 against Carlton the day we kicked 12 goals in 2nd half to their lousy 2

And a guy ran out onto Morrabin ground in white boots kicking goals from almost every where—-11 in fact (saw every one)

Stevo May follow these deeds ,who knows but he has the goods to be great

I didn’t see Greening that day, but I saw the white booted wonder at Morabbin. It was fifteen minutes of wonder that sealed my lifelong passion for the Pies. Carman was extraordinary that day. Perhaps the most inspiring fifteen minutes I have ever seen anyone play. Barry Price deserved an Oscar for best supporting act in that movie, mind you.

that last goal shows just how good the guy we got at number 5 about three years ago is.

DeGoey is DeGun. If Stevo can become half the player that DeGoey is, then we have a gem.

We just have to make sure that the leadership group doesn't decide to destroy his legs like the tried to do to DeGoey.

It was actually 14 goals to 3 in the 2nd half. The 12 (12.5, if it matters) came in the third quarter. It was all the more remarkable because Carlton were the reigning Premiers, had won all three games to start the season (we were 1 and 2) and in round 2, they'd kicked a then-record score of 30.30 against the hapless Hawks (remember those great days when you pencilled the games against Hawthorn in for a win?) JG, Tuddy and Wayne Richardson each kicked 3 goals in that third quarter (Wayne kicked his 3 in the space of three minutes). In the last quarter, there was a fight. Thommo and Teddy Potter were reported, along with two from the other mob. The reports were thrown out because the charges weren't officially notified within time. Unfortunately, the only video from the game seems to be the brawl.
