Took my new camera (I upgraded a month ago) to try out the sports settings today, only allowed to take up to 200mm lens in to the G unfortunately, but i got away with 250mm!
Pregame warmups;
hmm, notice the turn in his foot - should he be following through in a straighter line??
well now, very um dainty on the handies!!
called it years ago, this boy is all class! i got a few shots of him kicking and his focus and movement are the same every time, hes a beautiful kick

WOW!! hes in one of the last pics and you can see how tired he was by the end of the game, worked his butt off!
lucky for him we didnt lose by 6 or less!

didnt think Pendles could look anything but cute (ok there was that horrible porn star mo for a while, oh and the dreadlocks!!) but i managed it!

cheers - please note to keep the pics sharp with the speed of the ball & players, i had to up the ISO so they are grainy, plus very low light! and i dont have the inclination to fix them all in photoshop! cheers

Fantastic shots TP. Pretty mich pro standard. With a longer faster lens (which u cant have unless u get a press cred), they'd be pin sharp, and even with the limitations forced on you many are print quality. The close ones of Treloar are gorgeous, and your eye for the moment is seriously good. My votes go to Dunny v the Maggot II Great eye!
And I just noticed that you didnt even do CC in Photoshop! great exposures & colour, must be a nice bit of glass that 250!
I can see a press pass in your future.

Wow thank you for the compliments thats really nice!
The lens is a sigma 18-250 f3.5-6.3, I actually bought it 2nd hand on eBay! I wanted a walk around lens that is lighter than the Tamron 18-400 which I love but gets really heavy after a while! I really like it a lot and it has Macro capabilities too. The camera helps too, I upgraded from canon 700D to a 7D mark 2 mainly for the incredible 10 pics per second, and wow, its anazing! I really appreciate the exposure comments to as Im still new to manual modes, first time I put my camera on M was on 20.12.17 when I did a workshop! I really want to get a good feel for it as Im off to the US in three weeks, and cant wait to get done shots at Yellowstone and the canyons from Vegas to Denver. You obviously know your stuff, you shooters much? Thanks again cheers
