Not really that fussed about this tbh, of course the Saints are after him, he's a good player.

As is the case with most of these rumours though, the Saints can be interested all they want but it's all for nothing unless they can somehow convince us to trade them a player who will be a restricted free agent this off-season. Unless he has another behavioral relapse I'd say they'd need to pay massive overs for Jordan.

If he is, it’s time he showed it more regularly. He’s been in the system some years now and he still has a lot of potential to show for it.

^ in Dutch, which is where the name comes from, the preposition at the front of a name is not capitalized. de Wit, van der Laan, etc.

Since “Goey” is not a Dutch word, I suppose Jordan’s name is an Anglicized version of de Goeie, which would translate as “Jordan the good”. Which seems a little ironic.....

I would do the deal as well with St Kilda if it involves their first round draft pick. There's at least half a dozen elite KPP talent in the top 20 picks in this year's national draft. We get two of them which sets up our spine for the next 10 years.

I couldnt give a shit if St Kilda are interested right now.

I just find it weird that afl.com.au is run by journos.

Treloar was also out of contract when we traded for him.

De Goey would definitely net us a first round pick, plus more. Having been picked in the top 5 and shown enough to be worthy of it, he's worth a top 5 pick plus a bit more due to having proven his ability.

I don't want him to go and there's nothing to say that he will. But if we were after Lynch it's this sort of deal that could help get it done. I'd prefer to keep De Goey, personally.

“ first round pick “ is everything from pick one to pick 18.
Absolutely he would net us pick 18. The reality is the lower the Saints finish on the ladder, the less likely it would be a straight swap. That’s not to say it couldn’t be done with some mayonnaise going the other way.
I’m with you, I don’t want him going because as I posted earlier, losing first round picks sets our “ rejuvenation “ plans back a couple years ( plus he still has plenty of UNFULFILLED upside )
Clubs won’t be undervaluing the quality of this year’s draft. The earlier picks are worth more this year than most years. The suggestion is that Raynor would go about 7 / 8 this year, so I’m not sure that the Saints would be giving up pick 5 for him should they finish 14th at seasons end.
Time will tell but I doubt if he’s going anywhere, hopefully.

Probably the most insightful comment on this forum, tbh.
